The In Things at the moment are electric Scooters, electric assisted bicycles and fully electric scooters.
All of em two wheelers in the traditional sense.
By my figuring they fit the criteria of a motor cycle or at the minimum. Motor scooter so should be controlled by all the road rules that apply to any other motorised vehicle.
Get them off the footpath and you need a licence of some sort to use em.

Nice to see you back, but nah to nearly all of that. TPTB seem to have a handle on it. The electric scooters belong on the footpath not the road. The post menopause pessimists are predicting dire casualty rates but that's mainly due to their sour outlook on life. Sure there will be accidents but there's one born every minute so that's only to be expected.
Alternatively the moaning arseholes could all stay home and let the rest of us get on with life.

I really hope they do not come under the motorcycle banner. ACC levy on our rego.....
If the scooters, e-bikes and the like do end up on the pavement, does that mean I can get my skateboard out again?

yeah and they are going to take down all the no skateboarding signs too...
I see electric "mopeds" in the paper yesterday for the North Shore, the moped designation must be a nod to under 300 watt limit.
I wonder what ACC bucket they will come under.... Helmet= motorcycle would be my thympleton take on it.
