Hi everyone,

New poster here looking for help. I've recently purchased a Kawasaki Super Sherpa for my first bike.

I know these things are cold blooded so I recently re-jetted the carb: 130 Main, 22.5 Pilot, shimmed the needle (with one washer), mixture screw to 2 2/3 turns as per most recommendations. This should have largely sorted it.

My bike starts first time with choke/enricher on full. Idles high, and gets progressively higher to where it is running extremely high - but, if I ease of the choke it will idle low and quickly die. I also can't get it to warm up consistently so haven't been able to adjust the idle speed.

So it seems like she is still running lean, despite the modifications.

This is getting very irritating given I'm supposed to be learning on this bike!

Does anyone have any suggestions? :brick:

Idle speeding up like that could well be an air leak between the head and the carb.

That's an air leak. Get the bike going and spray the carb area with a mist of water. When the bike stumbles or revs up you have found the leak.
