Just call them to say you have seen one or two buzzing about. Seems to work well.

I don't mean to disparage our Scandinavian neighbours to the north,
but they've been dining out on that one (to justify military budget
increases) for nearly 40 years.
All those instances of supposed "venting of air underwater" and "radio
frequency transmissions" ?
A pack of drama queens.
It was probably just a narwahl with indigestion. And they're just too
embarrassed to admit it.

Fascinating how a thread about being late for a plane can turn so quickly into a discussion of Soviet/Scandinavian Submarine incidents

But what we all want to know is, has Jellywrestler been arrested yet for inciting a terrorist act?

Ah yes, before my time, but the army got new rifles out of that one too.

Nah. This was in Canterbury must've been about '54, seemingly everybody who went anywhere near the beach reported seeing a Russian submarine. It may have been a national thing but it was definitely a Canterbury thing. Then again they do have a certain track record for mass hysteria down there. Too much inbreeding?

Hey we invented a series of earthquakes too and the world believed us so we all got new houses and buildings to work in.
Auckland should pretend there was a big volcano go off and you can then bowl down shit for new roads and rail so Jaffers can actually travel in that city.
