I know this gets asked regularly but a search for wof didn't find anything???
I've been taking my bike to VTNZ stations for the last few years, mainly because they usually have someone who can do WoF's on Sundays. But my last one cost over $60, which seems a bit of a piss take for 10 minutes work especially when half the time they get me to do the brake test.
The local AA at Mt Roskill is cheaper especially as a member, but the guy there can be a bit difficult sometimes about things like aftermarket brake and clutch levers, plus he's their only motorbike guy and often isn't there at the weekends.
Any recommendations for a decent place in Auckland not too far from Royal Oak?
PS $37 at the AA. That's a decent saving, especially as the bike needs 2 per year.

Craigs not fan of bikes with no centre stand and he had a back injury.
He does like fishing so talk about that.
Pays to ring first as he's not always there.
Glenn Innes AA on Felton Matthew Ave is not actually that far if you know the back roads from Royal Oak.
They like to study the Vin plate.

Colemans will do them, although they aren't the cheapest. Only taken the bike there once, but it was near the price of taking it to VTNZ.

I use Stoddard Rd Motors for both the car and the bikes - bike WoF was $35 last July. Open Saturdays, if that helps...

He won’t like the R1 then. He did the ZZR1200 a couple of times but that had a centre stand.
I might try the AA at GI. The VIN plate on the R1 is easy to read. :)

Fuck all bikes have centre stands. He needs to get over it.
Cant see WOF's getting any cheaper after the silliness pre Christmas with suspect WOF places in the North Island.

There's the issue, you need a bike licence to do bike WOF's, none of the others have one and he has had very bad back issues.
I take my sidestand bike to Glen Innes. Centrestands are great, don't know how you sidestand only fashion victims get on.
Not so keen on the rear stands, they are a bit weird.

So how come some places get me to do the brake test? Is that because no one has a full licence?

So, don't participate in this taxation scam. Simple.

I took the R1 to GI today. Only minor difficulty was finding the place as stupid Google Maps showed it as off a side street instead of Felton Matthew Ave. They could do with a larger sign though.
No issues with the silly stuff that has been an issue at other places (no pillion pegs and the shorty front brake lever), and it was checked thoroughly. The office person even laminated the WoF using a couple of car windscreen rego pockets.

:niceone:
The staff there are really helpful, I got a private plate for my R90/S and it took a while to sort out, but no issues.
