"Look, I expect to be sued. I shouldn't be sued. Very rarely do you get sued when you do national emergency."
When you do national emergency, you don't get sued usually. Everybody knows this about national emergency.
Of course, past the presidents declared a national emergency when there was actual national emergency.;)

Odd considering that Trump inherited a prosperous economy from Obama.
Imagine if Obama had started with a small loan of a 120 million dollars how far he could have gone.
Only he didnt have any of that and brown black or yellow, hes twice the man or orange old Trump is.

How someone looks is inconsequential to how well they do their job. Would you choose a tradesperson on looks, or quality of workmanship?
I couldn't give a toss what the leader of our country looks like, as long a they provide quality leadership & well considered policies, and keep their election promises. Clearly I'm in the minority with my views on that.
Regardless of wether CGT is a great idea or not, how do you feel about your girlfriend lying to you to get the job? Don't give me any "well national did so & so" red herrings. I just want to know how you are coping with being lied to by someone you love.

Labour leader Jacinda Ardern will not rule out putting in some form of a capital gains tax in its first term if the party is elected to government.
Jacinda ArdernLabour leader Jacinda Ardern: "I am happy to rule out the family home." Photo: RNZ / Claire Eastham-Farrelly
Ms Ardern told Morning Report she would get an advisory group to look at the possibility of a widespread capital gains tax (CGT), but she definitively ruled out taxing the family home.
"I am happy to rule out the family home because that is part of what Labour's values on this have always been, we've consistently said that we do not believe that any future possible CGT would apply to the family home.
"Beyond that, I am leaving it to a group of experts to work through what we need to do more broadly when it comes to our taxation in New Zealand."
'We do want to give that to the experts' - Jacinda Ardern
She said New Zealand ranked poorly when it came to a fair tax system.
"We do not compare well internationally - we're only one of a handful that do not have some sort of taxation in this way. So what we have said is that actually, we did try and do this work from opposition. It is difficult and technical work, and we do want to bring in advisors."
Ms Ardern said it was important to assess whether or not a five-year capital gains tax was appropriate, or if something even wider was needed.
Labour's plans for any changes to the personal tax rate would have to wait until after the government opened its books later this week, she said.

Yeah Don yeah.
Since 1990, U.S. officials have discovered at least 230 tunnels, most of them running from Mexico into California and Arizona. It's believed smugglers have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to build the more sophisticated ones with ventilation and lighting.
Customs and Border Protection statistics show that 4,813 pounds (2,180 kilograms) of heroin were confiscated at official crossings in the 11-month period ending August 31. The Border Patrol, which patrols the vast areas between the crossings, seized 532 pounds (241 kilograms) of heroin in the same 11 months
Statistics suggest more bulkier marijuana shipments are smuggled between ports of entry than at them. The Border Patrol seized nearly 440,000 pounds (200,000 kilograms) of pot between crossings during the 11 months, compared with 280,000 pounds (127,000 kilograms) confiscated at crossings.

Interesting when the son gave evidence against his father. His father, the Republican candidate, had said he was unaware the guy he was hiring was crooked, the son gave evidence that he had told his father the guy's history.
Being a government lawyer the son would be in deep shit if he was caught lying so he really didn't have an option.

OK, you got there. Bezos bought the Washington Post which has said some unkind things about Trump. Not untrue, Trump just didn't like them. So he has used his position as president to try and raise the postal rates on Amazon packages. If any other president had done that there would have been an uproar. For this corrupt arsehole though, it's just another day at the office.
Bezos' wife will do more damage to him than Trump ever could, now that she's divorcing him.
The current Trump news item concerns a brothel owner, Cindy Yang, who spends time at Mar a Largo and other Trump properties and who is apparently also suspected of human trafficking. There are photos of her with all the Trump males, senators, congressmen and Fox News "personalities", etc. Some of them really did not like these pictures published. On the other hand I loved it.
Turns out she's been selling Chinese business men access to Trump as well. Can you imagine any other president being involved in low grade crap like this?

Donald Trump’s words do not only cause a storm on social media, they also affect capital markets.
The President-elect’s latest feud is with Boeing, the major US manufacturer of airplanes. In a tweet, he said that the costs for the company’s new Air Force One government plane were “out of control” at $4bn and the government contract should be cancelled
The tweet was sent shortly after the Chicago Tribune posted a story that showed the company's CEO expressing doubt over Mr Trump's plans on international trade.
Before the president-elect's tweet, the company was trading at $152.16 per share. After the tweet, it fell close to 1 per cent during pre-market trading on Tuesday to $149.75 per share,

Kushner in particular wears two hats when dealing with the Saudis - and what suits Trump becomes US policy there.

In a stunning rebuke, the Republican-controlled Senate has voted to terminate President Donald Trump's declaration of a national emergency at the US-Mexico border.
The disapproval resolution passed the House last month, so the 59-41 Senate vote will send the measure to the Trump's desk.

The Muller reports exonerates Me.
Investigations by the FBI and Special Counsel Robert Mueller resulted in indictments of Russian agents on charges of developing and exploiting ties with the NRA to influence US politics. The deputy governor of the Central Bank of Russia, Aleksandr Torshin, is suspected of illegally funneling money through the NRA to benefit Trump's 2016 campaign. In May 2018, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee released a report stating it had obtained "a number of documents that suggest the Kremlin used the National Rifle Association as a means of accessing and assisting Mr. Trump and his campaign" through Torshin and his assistant Maria Butina, and that "The Kremlin may also have used the NRA to secretly fund Mr. Trump's campaign. Torshin, a lifetime NRA member who is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been implicated in money laundering by Spanish authorities who have characterized him as a "godfather" in Taganskaya, a major Russian criminal organization.
Butina was arrested on July 15, 2018 and charged with conspiring to act as an unregistered agent of the Russian Federation and using Republican operative Paul Erickson for cover and connections as she developed an influence operation designed to "advance the interests of the Russian Federation." The FBI acquired an email Erickson had sent to an acquaintance in 2016 stating, "Unrelated to specific presidential campaigns, I've been involved in securing a VERY private line of communication between the Kremlin and key [GOP] leaders through, of all conduits, the [NRA]." According to the affidavit, from 2015 through at least February 2017, Butina worked at the direction of Russian who was a high level government official and official at the Russian Central Bank.In December, Butina agreed in a plea deal to cooperate with federal prosecutors.
In a 2018, in a letter sent to Sen. Ron Wyden and addressed to Congress, the NRA acknowledged it had accepted a contributions from 23 Russian nationals
But Mueller found that there was conclusive evidence that Russia did interfere in the election, both through a coordinated campaign of disinformation and by hacking emails from Hillary Clinton’s election team.
In a letter to lawmakers, Barr said that Mueller found that there had been “multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign.”
WEDNESDAY, PRESIDENT Donald Trump appeared to downplay Russia’s efforts to interfere with US democracy for a third time this week.
The first had come during a joint press conference with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, a 45-minute exercise in kowtowing to a hostile foreign leader. The second, remarkably, came during the “clarification” of those remarks; on the heels of reading a prepared comment acknowledging Russia’s actions in 2016, Trump improvised, stating that it “could be other people also. There’s a lot of people out there.”
And then came Wednesday, when a reporter asked Trump before a Cabinet meeting if Russia is still targeting the US. The correct answer, according to repeated warnings from US intelligence officials, is absolutely. Trump said no.
Later in the day, press secretary Sarah Sanders framed the answer differently, suggesting that Trump in fact meant “no more questions.” Given the broader context of his almost pathological resistance to admitting that Russia meddled in the 2016 election, that explanation seems wanting. And even if it’s a correct interpretation, Trump still declined an opportunity to assertively back up the intelligence community he has repeatedly spurned.
"It’s an unprecedented time in our nation’s history."
Trump’s denials of Russian interference go back more than two years, and have been largely nd have been largely steadfast despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. (It was only after the Putin press conference backlash that he squarely blamed Russia, both in his prepared remarks Tuesday and in an interview with CBS that aired Wednesday night).
Meanwhile, every relevant US intelligence agency has said that Russia did interfere and continues to. On Friday, director of national intelligence Dan Coats told a gathering at the Hudson Institute think tank that the “warning lights are blinking red again” regarding Russian cyberactivity, invoking pre-9/11 levels of concern. And at this very moment, alleged Russian spy Maria Butina sits in a jail cell awaiting trial.
And a New York Times story late Wednesday night made clear that US intelligence leaders explicitly told Trump that Russia—at Putin's command—had interfered throughout the 2016 election, and showed him irrefutable supporting evidence. He has known this whole time.
All of which is to say that there is no gray area here, other than that which Trump himself creates. And that’s the first problem.

So, here's a thing. Regardless of anyone's personal opinion about 45 (and I do have one) the major point is that Trump supporters and Trump haters don't listen to one another - they don't talk to one another either. And each side is so entrenched in its own camp, with its own compliant media outlets that create and reinforce the echo chamber which deepens their position - so the schism deepens and widens and nothing gets done. American politics is completely fucked - its how you get manifestly self interested and unqualified people elected, and its why America is fucked as well.
The root cause of all of that? Money.
Let me digress by saying that the single most interesting course I did at University back in the day (late 80's early 90's) was POLS205: American Politics. And the first thing the lecturer said to us is that you should not think of "who" rules america, but "what" rules america. And what rules america is money. Who has the money? Large corporations and the people who control them. It takes a lot of money to engage in the political process in America and most of that money is sourced from the corporates. And they demand their quid pro quo.. Any "ordinary" person wearing an Obama badge, or a MAGA hat is basically a spectator. They're like fans at a football match. Tribal as fuck, but with zero ability to influence the game on the pitch. Taking that analogy a step further, the people who win the game usually aren't the players... its the coaches and managers and owners - who bring money to bear. And money rules everything.
Which is why campaign finance reform is the single most necessary thing to restore America towards being a functional democracy*. But it will never happen because the big interest groups* will never allow it.
And its not just the Republicans - the Democrats too (look up the Chicago machine).
*and you may infer (correctly) that my opinion is that it isn't a functional democracy at present.

Interesting points, I don't entirely disagree with you about the Money issue either. The line between 'Bribe' and 'Campaign donation' has always seemed rather hazy.
However, there are other points to consider:
Career Politicians - People who have never 'lived' in the real world, who are themselves existing in an Echo-Chamber of sorts, often larger inner-cities, affluent areas, with views divergent from the populace - a classic example atm is the House of Commons being pro-Remain, whereas the UK as a whole being Pro-Leave.
The influence of Left and far-left ideology over University, Academia, the Teaching profession, Social Media etc. Things such as the theory of intersectionality, Identity politics, Political Correctness etc. These are things that have infiltrated our culture, things that often promulgated by a select few, opposed by the masses, but forced upon us anyway.
The degradation of Journalism - It seems less about delivering the news, more about provoking a reaction. And if you have to edit, omit or outright lie to get a reaction, that seems to be par for the course. and hastens the decline
Trump is more a reaction, than a symptom. There are things I don't like about Trump, however - my main issue is that there is a definitive kabal of groups who are so fundamentally opposed to him, that they can't portray him fairly - the eponymous 'fake news' - and to be honest, seeing them throw their toys out of the proverbial because they can't get their own way is immensely satisfying. Almost like some form of Karma for acting like petulant children in the first place.
As an example - the Democrats in the US have still not done the required soul searching to understand why they lost. It's that self-delusion of righteousness that irritates people who would otherwise support the Democrats, coupled with Utterances that sound like re-hashed Socialist/Communist talking points (and some of us either remember or have read how well that turned out) and you have the recipe that you describe - 2 tribal camps praying for war.
The solution is not Money, or at least, not all Money - but I think a leaf should be taken from Tony Blair's landslide victory in the UK under New Labour - the exorcism of the Socialist Left that had existed in the Labour Party. It's something virtually no left wing party has done since, in manner cases - they've done the opposite.

I agree with a lot of it but the problem of money in politics is not the real issue the issue is some actually think its okay.
What trump has been allowed to get away with in regards to his blatant interference and utter crap he talks is heinous. It’s a damming indictment on all that is wrong with the world and the cult of celebrity.

It is the problem as far as watering down democracy. One vote equals less than the money that can be earned as you can just use that money to capture more votes

I just can’t see how anyone’s intellect can be that lacking not to notice and actually challenge, take the seconds to even check the stuff Trump clearly lies about. Then think to themselves why trust him to run a country if he can’t even tell basic simple truths.
There is simple spin and there is media bias on both sides but there is also what trump does.

There's a lot more wrong with the world than Donald Trump. Hes just the clown prince. My, and really HDCs point - is that America spouts Democracy as its defining principle but is so far removed from actual democracy that it's a travesty.

Really you have no right wing media in the USA?
anyone would think the rich that own media wold be more prone to right wing. and the rich would bev more likely to own the media.
In January, during the longest government shutdown in America’s history, President Donald Trump rode in a motorcade through Hidalgo County, Texas, eventually stopping on a grassy bluff overlooking the Rio Grande. The White House wanted to dramatize what Trump was portraying as a national emergency: the need to build a wall along the Mexican border. The presence of armored vehicles, bales of confiscated marijuana, and federal agents in flak jackets underscored the message.
But the photo op dramatized something else about the Administration. After members of the press pool got out of vans and headed over to where the President was about to speak, they noticed that Sean Hannity, the Fox News host, was already on location. Unlike them, he hadn’t been confined by the Secret Service, and was mingling with Administration officials, at one point hugging Kirstjen Nielsen, the Secretary of Homeland Security. The pool report noted that Hannity was seen “huddling” with the White House communications director, Bill Shine. After the photo op, Hannity had an exclusive on-air interview with Trump. Politico later reported that it was Hannity’s seventh interview with the President, and Fox’s forty-second. Since then, Trump has given Fox two more. He has granted only ten to the three other main television networks combined, and none to CNN, which he denounces as “fake news.
Nicole Hemmer, an assistant professor of Presidential studies at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center and the author of “Messengers of the Right,” a history of the conservative media’s impact on American politics, says of Fox, “It’s the closest we’ve come to having state TV.”
Hemmer argues that Fox—which, as the most watched cable news network, generates about $2.7 billion a year for its parent company, 21st Century Fox—acts as a force multiplier for Trump, solidifying his hold over the Republican Party and intensifying his support. “Fox is not just taking the temperature of the base—it’s raising the temperature,” she says. “It’s a radicalization model.” For both Trump and Fox, “fear is a business strategy—it keeps people watching.” As the President has been beset by scandals, congressional hearings,
nd even talk of impeachment, Fox has been both his shield and his sword. The White House and Fox interact so seamlessly that it can be hard to determine, during a particular news cycle, which one is following the other’s lead. All day long, Trump retweets claims made on the network; his press secretary, Sarah Sanders, has largely stopped holding press conferences, but she has made some thirty appearances on such shows as “Fox & Friends” and “Hannity.” Trump, Hemmer says, has “almost become a programmer.”
[. Bill Kristol, who was a paid contributor to Fox News until 2012 and is a prominent Never Trumper, said of the network, “It’s changed a lot. Before, it was conservative, but it wasn’t crazy. Now it’s just propaganda.” Joe Peyronnin, a professor of journalism at N.Y.U., was an early president of Fox News, in the mid-nineties. “I’ve never seen anything like it before,” he says of Fox. “It’s as if the President had his own press organization. It’s not healthy.”
nothing has formalized the partnership between Fox and Trump more than the appointment, in July, 2018, of Bill Shine, the former co-president of Fox News, as director of communications and deputy chief of staff at the White House.
So what were the f-horrible obama things the daily gaffs the nepotism etc.
The rest of the world respected Obama.
We all thought Trump was a buffoon even before his candidacy. you only had to watch 5 minutes of his TV show to pick up on that.
On the flip side, Obama was charismatic witty and articulate with a great sense of humor, Yet still Trump manages to provide the world with more to laugh at.

Falwell Jr and others have been quoted as saying Trump was sent by God to save the republic. Recently I came across a social media page where all concerned considered Trump was a saviour. In the biblical sense. The real problem is the some of the congenital imbeciles Trump has in his cabinet believe the end days are coming and they see them selves as an instrument of God's will. Pompeo, the Secretary of State, is one such who anticipates 'the rapture' with relish.
To have such people directly influencing an ignorant, mentally ill president, who is also suffering senile dementia at an accelerating rate is a scary thought.

Fret for your lawsuit and fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your Prozac and fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and fret for your car

That was not a good report, like most we get here they miss important detail. Trump actually said that it was the sound of the wind turbines that causes cancer which, of course, came as news to the medical profession.
Trump is not a fan of wind power generation. He tried to stop a windfarm being built in the sea off one of his Scottish golf courses. He lost the case and costs were awarded against him. Three hundred thousand odd quids worth. Apparently he has told the British government that if they pursue the debt that would be harmful to UK/US relations. You could file that under corruption.
Trump's mental condition is deteriorating at an accelerating rate. Doctors have been moved to comment on social media and that's a first that I have seen. He now frequently has no idea where he is or why he's there. Apparently old clips of him speaking do not show the incoherent word salad that he dishes up today. And don't forget he has the nuclear codes.
The other day Trump was advised that the House Ways and Means Committee had requested six years worth of his tax returns. He waffled on before saying he was not disposed to release them. He has no say, they haven't requested them from him, they've requested them from the IRS as they are entitled to do by law. Of course, Mnuchin who overseas the tax department is a Trump appointee so there could be a fight. The Ways and Means committee may have an odd name but basically they are in charge of all government income and expenditure, thus they have seriously heavyweight powers.

Sorry it might have been never settling cases
TRUMP: ... We have a 98 percent approval rating from the people who took the course. We have an “A” from the Better Business Bureau. And, people like it. Now, he’s saying they didn’t learn.
We have many, many people that will be witnesses. Again, I don’t settle cases. I don’t do it because that’s why I don’t get sued very often, because I don’t settle, unlike a lot of other people.
The Better Business Bureau responded by saying that it never gave Trump University an “A” rating, and had in fact received “many consumer complaints” about the university. As for not getting sued very often, a report in February found that Trump had been named in 169 (nice) federal lawsuits.
Trump was due in court on November 28, but it looks like the man who said he’d never settle is going to settle. Early reports suggest that Trump will pay between $20 million and $25 million. It’s likely that Trump and his team want to keep him out of court because having a president-elect being tried for fraud is not a particularly good look. But given Trump’s mountain of debt, history of dodgy endeavors, and conflicts of interest, tying Trump up in court may be a good strategy for combatting his presidency.
After all settling would be like admitting defeat and defeat is clearly just fake news of a epic trump victory.
3500 lawsuits i would hate to think how many he would be involved in if he considered he was someone sued much?

Under cross examination as to his worth the estimate he gave was wildly different to the figures in the information supplied to the court. The judge asked why that was. Trump replied that his answer was how rich he felt.
Trump had been forced to reveal a great deal of information about his business that he would rather have kept quiet so there was no way he could count it a win. After the case he boasted that the case had bankrupted the journalist. The paper and their insurance company paid, it didn't cost the journo a cent. You are the last one in the world who gives a fuck about that.
Last or only?
For more than four years, President Donald Trump has refused to release his federal income tax returns.
Friday, his attorney said the president plans to continue doing so, despite pressure from House Democrats to make the returns public.
In a letter to the Treasury Department, Trump’s attorney William Consovoy called on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to reject a request from the House Ways and Means Committee to release the president’s personal and business tax return.
Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA), who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, demanded Trump’s returns on Wednesday, following months of a slow and meticulous start to a number of investigations into the Trump White House by Democrats newly in control of the House of Representatives.
Neal wants six years worth of Trump’s personal federal income tax returns and returns for business entities tied to his name, spanning 2013 through 2018. The chairman set an April 10 deadline for returns’ release.
Trump defied decades of precedent in refusing to release his returns — every modern presidential party nominee has made their tax returns public at one point or another. The president has justified his refusal to follow suit, but his justifications keep changing.
Over the course of his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump waffled over whether he’d actually make his returns available to the public. Before formally announcing his campaign, Trump promised conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt he would release his returns should he run for president. The president then punted on the issue after he formally declared his candidacy months later, saying in August 2015 that he’d release them “at some point.”
Trump teased of a big tax return reveal during the Republican primary season. But as Vox’s Andrew Prokop notes, Trump’s storyline started to shift around the time he edged closer to clinching the party’s nomination. Trump began arguing that he was barred from releasing his returns because he was being audited by the IRS. Only after the audit was finished would he be able to make the returns public, he claimed.

All the Americans I know are sickly liberals as well, and to a woman they despise Trump, the Republicans, and the American policital process. Its like religion, music and TV shows - we just don't go there.

Curious, of New Zealand.
It was an election that had probably the 2 most unpopular candidates ever. I voted for Trump because I disliked him slightly less than the old hag. My vote was a vote against her. There are a lot of people here that did likewise for the same reason. I still think I made the correct choice. Things for the average citizen are ticking along quite nicely.
I never actually said I support Trump (other than voting for him of course). He is light years away from being perfect but anyone was better than that fucking clinton woman.

I wonder how much of that was formed by your previously - and vehemently - expressed dislike for Helen Clarke. If she'd got in, you'd have had a continuation of straight Democrat policies. What exactly did you get with this idiot ? What appears to be a Christian version of Sharia law coming in which should set human rights in the US back abouit a century.
Yes, we get that for the average Joe the economy is ticking along nicely. But Trump can't take the credit for that, it was a delayed bounce from the Obama years. I'm hearing on other forums from US based members that some specialty industries are suffering badly from the tarrifs
Trump is the international face of the US - and it's a bloody ugly one. But his base simply won't see past the bullshit.

In that instance Jason may have a point. Debbie Wasserman-Schwass was the head of the Democrat Party national body at the time, having previously been Clinton's chief of staff. The candidate selection process was biased in favour of Clinton. The usual expression seems to be along the lines, "the scales were tilted in her favour".
Sanders was performing better against Trump in polling than was Clinton, but the voters never got that option.

I'm not sure you can say that - Trump got in because of quirks in the American "democratic" system - in terms of popular vote he was second, but the electoral college system meant he got elected. Having said that, you are absolutely right: he got in and they both knew how that system worked had the opportunity to work it.
I think you're right though - a lot of ppl assumed just because Hilary C was the democratic candidate she would get in. Having said that, I am interested in the outcome of what the russian interference actually was.

Yes, i often have , without wishing to be sounding like a braggart, i have a fairly extensive vocabulary. Just exceedingly lazy grammar punctuation and spelling.

The link doesn't work and I haven't got to that Guardian item yet.
The truth, as I understand it, is that under Obama a law was introduced to permit children to be separated if child trafficking or similar was suspected. The mass removal of children from their parents, many of whom as yet are not returned to their parents and some of whom have already been adopted out, is all Trump. The policy is believed to have been the brain child of Steven Miller the White House's resident Jewish white supremacist. Apparently Miller is immune to irony.
Totally unrelated but worth a look. Competition for the silliest question in congressional hearings is hot but Rep Massie, Kentucky, is chasing the title. The whole thing is interesting but the first 1.30 will give you the idea.

Pritch has it right. It's said that Kirstjen Neilson lost her job because she didn't want to enforce Trump's policy. Given Trump lies every time he opens his mouth, the policy of separation will probably continue. Neilson's successor won't be her deputy as protocol would have it, Trump looks like appointing a loyalist hard liner. The deputy has resigned before being fired.
Amusingly, the "Obama did it" claim is apparently one of the most common things fact checked on line.

I don't know if he has someone in mind, but Trump appointments don't usually last long and whoever takes this new vacancy will likely be unemployable thereafter.

https://www.politico.eu/article/donald-trump-christchurch-terrorist-claims-media-is-trying-to-blame-him-for-new-zealand-mass-shooting/
A top White House official earlier said Trump "is not a white supremacist" and attempts to tie him to the alleged shooter are "absurd."
Mick Mulvaney, the acting chief of staff, described the New Zealand shooter as a "disturbed individual" and "evil person" and said it was unfair to cast the 28-year-old Australian "as a supporter of Donald Trump"
Mulvaney said Trump is a defender of religious minorities worldwide, and that his actions speak louder than his words.
"Look at what we've done while we've been here," he said. "I don't think anybody could say that the president is anti-Muslim."
https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americas/111356346/white-house-aide-says-unfair-to-tie-evil-mosque-shooter-to-donald-trump
On Monday, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway called the claims “predictable and outrageous.” Conway compared the most recent mass shooting to when Representative Steve Scalise (R-La.) was shot at a congressional baseball practice in 2017, which Conway called “the worst day” of the administration’s first year in the White House.
“We didn't run around saying, ‘Gee, the guy watches MSNBC or he’s a Bernie supporter,’” Conway said. “Nobody should do that. Nobody should blame folks other than the evil, hateful shooter.”
Conway also slammed those taking shots at the president on the air or using social media.
“Folks, if you're not expert on this, stop weighing in like you are,” she said. “We don't need to hear your opinion on every single thing.”

It runs in the family apparently. After Barr made his report on the Mueller report, Trump Jr posted "TOLD YA!!!" on Twitter. This was presumably in reaction to Muellers decision not to charge him for his meeting with the Russians. The reason Mueller gave for not indicting Jr was that he was not mentally competent. (I can't remember the exact wording but that's definitely the gist.)
Jr is the embodiment of the saying, "Too stupid to know he's stupid." The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

According to the latest poll, only 37 percent of adults in the United States approved of Trump’s performance in office.

To put that in context its almost exactly 1/2 the approval rating of Jacinda Adern.
In UMR, Ms Ardern's approval rating has been consistently in the 72-76 percent range since March, comparable with Sir John Key at his most popular. Her disapproval rating has ranged from 14 to 24 percent
Now Jasons said a few times that jacindas shit as a PM, so what does that say about Trump? especially considering his disapproval rating is about 4 times higher.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders has defended herself against accusations of lying to the American public after Robert Mueller’s report refuted several statements she previously made to the media.
The White House press secretary joined Good Morning America a day after the report was released, where she was grilled about her previous claims that “countless” members of the FBI told her they were dissatisfied with James Comey’s leadership at the agency before he was fired by Donald Trump.
The report said those comments were “not founded on anything” and that Ms Sanders told investigators they were a “slip of the tongue.”
Ms Sanders said during a 10 May press briefing that the president “had countless conversations with members from within the FBI” and ultimately determined “the rank and file of the FBI had lost confidence in their director.”
She then told reporters the following day, “I have heard from countless members of the FBI that are grateful and thankful for the president’s decision and I think we may have to agree to disagree.”

There is a lot of angst being expressed on US social media. The fact that Mueller excused any prosecution of Donald Trump Junior about his meeting with the Russians because he didn't know what he was doing is at odds with what we're all told about ignorance of the law being no excuse. Trump Jr is being compared to the woman who voted while on probation. She was unaware that's against the law where she lives and she got five years jail. This is interpreted as one law for the rich and another for the rest of us.
According to US lawyers there are two areas of US law where it is sometimes necessary to prove intent: taxation law, and electoral law. Mueller concluded that a defence team would have no problem convincing a jury that Junior is as dumb as a sack full of rocks and had no appreciation that what he was doing was illegal. Mueller's assessment is borne out by Junior's jubilant celebration of his innocence.
One worry, Democrats are comforted by the thought of the fourteen investigations and indictments that Mueller left ongoing. Twelve of the indictments are sealed which means the charges and who they effect are secret. They also freeze time as concerns any statute of limitations considerations. It's too soon for the Dems to celebrate though, all of those charges are under the control of Barr the Attorney General who has already demonstrated he is operating as Trumps personal lawyer rather than heading up the Justice Dept for the people of the USA. The only ongoing matters beyond Barr's direct reach are any brought by the Attorneys General of the States of New York or New Jersey.

It's rapidly becoming obvious that only one side of the US political divide is reading the Mueller report. Trump obviously didn't read something four hundred odd pages in length, he never has, and he isn't about to start now.
To get the inbred, home schooled, MAGAts to read it maybe they should have published it as a comic.

"You want to see a bird cemetery? Go under a windmill sometime."
You will see the saddest, you got every type of bird. You know, in California you go to jail for five years if you kill a bald eagle. You go under a windmill, you see them all over the place. Not a good situation.
"It's Friday. How many bald eagles did wind turbines kill today? They are an environmental & aesthetic disaster."
"Windmills are the greatest threat in the US to both bald and golden eagles. Media claims fictional ‘global warming’ is worse."
"Wind Power Company Fined $1 Million for Killing Birds. Golden eagles among victims"...http://nyti.ms/1jwe8be
And when the wind stops blowing, it doesn’t make any difference, does it? Unlike those big windmills that destroy everybody’s property values, kill all the birds. Someday, the environmentalists are going to tell us what’s going on with that. And then, all of a sudden, it stops; the wind and the televisions go off. And your wives and husbands say, “Darling, I want to watch Donald Trump on television tonight.”
If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations: Your house just went down 75% in value. And they say the noise causes cancer. You tell me that one, OK? Rrrrr, rrrrr... you know the thing that makes the... it’s so noisy. And of course it’s like a graveyard for birds. If you love birds, you’d never want to walk under a windmill because it’s a very sad, sad sight. It’s like a cemetery. We put a little, we put a little statue for the poor birds. It’s true.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWGC6ogXSzY<iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/iSzI8gEol5mXS" width="480" height="270" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/trump-eagle-stops-iSzI8gEol5mXS"></a></p>
To date, not a single Republican has come out to support Trump’s assertion that wind causes cancer — although several have attacked him over it.
The two Republican senators for Iowa, Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, who have generally been supportive of the president, called his claims “idiotic” and “ridiculous”, respectively.
“I would say it’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous,” Ernst told local media. “I have church bells that ring all the time across from my office here in [Washington] DC and I know that noise doesn’t give me cancer, otherwise I’d have ‘church bell cancer’.”
Although wind farms do kill some birds (approximately 20,000 a year, according to a 2009 study), they kill significantly fewer birds than nuclear plants (approx. 330,000 deaths) and fossil fuel power plants (more than 14 million deaths).
Wind power is now the cheapest form of new energy in the US, together with utility-scale PV, and according to AWEA, 86% of the wind-power capacity installed in the US last year was made by turbine manufacturers with at least one American factory.
WHY DOES TRUMP HATE WIND POWER?
Commentators and wind-power executives believe that President Trump’s hatred of wind turbines stems from his ultimately unsuccessful and costly attempts to prevent an “ugly” offshore wind farm being built near his Trump International Golf Links course in northeast Scotland.
As one senior wind supply executive told Recharge: “He lost in Scotland. Now he is acting like a little boy.”
From 2010, when the 11-turbine European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) in Aberdeen Bay was given the go-ahead by the Crown Estate, Trump campaigned aggressively against it.
In typical Trump style, he lambasted the then Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond as “Mad Alex” and said Scotland would become a “third world wasteland” due to the “monsters” (ie, wind turbines) being installed in and off Scotland.
He then went on to tell a Scottish parliamentary committee that wind farms would “destroy” Scottish tourism, and when asked for supporting evidence, replied: “I am the evidence, I am considered a world-class expert in tourism.”
After multiple legal appeals in the Scottish courts, which delayed the project for several years, the UK Supreme Court finally ruled against Trump in December 2015.
In response to the ruling, the Trump Organisation released a statement that said: “History will judge those involved unfavourably and the outcome demonstrates the foolish, small-minded and parochial mentality which dominates the current Scottish government’s dangerous experiment with wind energy.”
In March this year, Scotland’s supreme civil court, the Court of Session, ruled that Trump International Golf Links must pay the Scottish government’s legal costs for three years’ worth of appeals.
The sum it had to pay was not disclosed.

Oh let me count the ways..
How about the separation of babies and children from their parents?
Putting those babies up for adoption for profit.
In the last day or so he has threatened to round up the homeless in San Francisco and other major cities and put them in camps. He seems to like concentration camps. Not sure if he'll feel the same about the Trump Guantanamo.
His support of murderous dictators and his desire to emulate them.
His support of Israel's criminal policies in Palestine.
A lot of the other shit he does isn't notably evil, he's just a low level conman who accidentally hit the big time.

Trump told the British government that if they tried to enforce the court ordered costs the trade negotiations would be effected. Like the mini mafia don he would like to be.
I read a few days back that fifty one coal mines have closed since Trump was elected. One mine recently got the staff to load a train with coal then announced that the mine was closing but that there was no money for severance payments. Last I saw the former staff were camped on the railway line to stop the train moving.
Thousands of truckers have gone out of business and rail rolling stock is parked up on sidings going nowhere. Soy is rotting on the farms, nobody wants to buy US corn. Mexico used to buy it but when Trump made his feelings known they went elsewhere. Farmers are going broke. So much winning.

Trump
“I never understood wind. I know windmills very much, I have studied it better than anybody,” he said.
“I know it is very expensive. They are made in China and Germany mostly, very few made here, almost none, but they are manufactured, tremendous
– if you are into this – tremendous fumes and gases are spewing into the atmosphere. You know we have a world, right?”
"So, the world is tiny compared to the universe," he concluded
# Note There's over 4000 people employed building vestas windmills and towers in pueblo Colorado, the largest windmill manufacturing plant in the world.
Nearly 20,000 American workers at over 500 factories across 43 states now build wind turbine parts and materials.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec9P3C1OXqE
In April this year, the President said "If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations.
"they say the noise causes cancer."
Trump has had it out for wind power since turbines were proposed off the coast of Scotland within sight of his golf resort near Aberdeen in the UK.
