The other bike Im doing a motor rebuild on has the exhaust close to my leg. Currently Ive just heat wrapped it which works ok.

Is Ceramic coating going to work in keeping hat away from my leg?

Yip it will help. as will making a heat shield or a "Hat shield" in your case.
Look pretty as well.

Already got a hat shield. But too much shielding gets in the way of my leg.

ceramic coating won't make any discernable difference
get some exhaust wrap tape, it will make a large difference, it's that or a shield or both

Ceramic coating is much better than that teflon shit. It's rather hard to get a perfect egg on expansion chambers though. But it does bacon superb.
