Suzuki GN250 Starter Motor Brush Replacement

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2004 Suzuki GN250 and have been giving it some love and going through the service maintenance list to check everything’s where it needs to be and getting to know the bike.

The other day I took apart the starter motor to find that the carbon/copper brushes inside were shot and in need of replacement.

I’ll go ahead and admit I am new to motorcycles and unsure of where to get replacement parts and servicing done locally that wont break my wallet or have me faffing about with someone looking to take advantage.

Talking of starter motors, when you open one up to look at the brushes and half the magnets fall out does that mean it is time for a new one?

Bloody thing is three years old.
