Short(ish) exhaust for VFR400 NC30 with 41mm inlet

Hi there, in having some trouble getting the HRC system on my NC30 to fit properly without fouling on the swingarm. It seems to be because the muffler I am using is too long (480mm) and won't sit right, which is changing the angle of the piping.

So what I'm looking for is a shorter muffler (around 300mm) with a 41mm inlet to replace the big one that's on there. Don't need anything fancy, and not wanting to spend too much.

The actual piping for the exhaust is fine, it's just sitting strangely because the muffler can't be mounted correctly as it's too big and long. I'd probably rather keep it in one piece and try fitting a different muffler to see if I can get the fit right before chopping the one on there.

So what you are wanting is a shorter than the mm you have 41mm od or id race can.
or a link pipe that puts the can at the correct angle.

Yep that's about it! Just checking to see if anyone has an old one laying about a workshop before I shell out for a new one.

I added a bit if its just the angle a few dollars at a old fashioned exhaust shop. to do the link pipe.
if its a shorter can you need post up the current can length.

I am done with this - lost interest. You should assume the motor will need a full rebuild. If I was doing it I would take it out to 444cc because they go quite well and are reliable at that.

The chassis and running gear (even the tyres!) are good, its still a road bike with electric start (and Shorai battery...) but the motor is dorked. All four cylinders have low compression (round 50psi) - best case scenario is heads off and refresh, worst case is full motor rebuild. There has never been metal in the oil and even with low compression it did run so there's that.

What you are buying is the RVF400 NC35 17 inch rear wheel, the Ohlins shock, and the beautifully rebuilt and resprung front forks. All the rest of that stuff is attached to it to make it easier to roll around. It also comes with some spares - no motor parts but some airbox and stuff like that. Just had the carbs ultrasonically cleaned and new carb kits installed and a new rear tyre. The front is not overly used but is quite old now

Let me know what you want pictures of and I will add them. Edit: fucks sake: pay me $200k if you like but I would be easily swayed by $2000.

It looks nicer in the photos - it is due a repaint but like I say, I've lost interest

Added some picture links to the OP. The muffler on there is 480mm, and I need something around 300mm. As you can see in the pics, changing the angle would work, but then it'd be sticking even further out the back of the bike. It's just too damn big!

Easy? Cut the carbon can, cut the baffle... drill holes for the end cap and you have a 300mm muffler

If you search for motorcycle exhaust on Ebay you'll find a pile of new ex China ones in various lengths for under a hundy delivered. Heck most even come with a name brand label on them like SC ........ but they are rip-offs. I've seen a coupl on bike and those were surprising well made.

Why dont you just shorten the muffler you have?
