Just bought a ktm990 smt. Ex japan so what restrictions will it have on power output if any ? Cheers

Not sure if it still applies but Japanese market big bikes used to be restricted to 180kmh.
More than enough....;)

Only one way to find out :banana:
I had a GC1200ss that, I'd imagine, when you hit 180 it cut out the firing of a couple cylinders (in the top two gears). I'd also imagine that on that particular bike it was a very cheap diode install that eliminated the limiter.
I assume you are asking for track days :bleh:

My import has a wee magnetic switch in the speedo which kills the spark when the needle hits 180kmh, feels like a rev limiter kicking in. So I'm led to believe.:innocent:
An S&M KTM is probably a bit more advanced than that. :yes:
