As many of you know i have been bitching and moaning about getting my full and getting a 'big' bike... well i picked it up on Thursday and as you can guess it hasnt managed to stay in the garage yet! :whocares:

Been taking it 'easy' as im sitting my full tomorrow and it wont be insured until i have the piece of paper allowing me to legally enter the world of rampant hooliganism!

Been having awesome fun on it even at 'tame' speeds and have been working down the one inch chicken strips that it came with (mmmmm chicken)

Well anyway as it was such a nice day i went down to Long Bay and snapped some pics... didnt quite get what i was after but they still came out alright.

very nice. i like the polished/chrome pipe/muffler set up.

hey that front tyre though just doesn't look right. are you sure the direction arrow is going the right way? it looks as though it would force water to the centre of the tyre, instead of out to the sides.

R6_kid
16th October 2005, 21:16
yeh it is aftermarket, gonna look at getting something differenct tho. Also need to buy another bend for the pipe so i can have it sitting lower when i want to take pillions.

As for the tyre... not too sure. Its a metzeller so i would imagine it works alright :niceone:

was chatting to Zapf and he had the same tyre on one of his old bikes (metzeller MZ1? sportecs) and he said that its right so i'll stop worrying for the mean time.

I've been told its pretty much the best rubber for the bike so im not complaining. :niceone:

Thanks for all the good remarks. I've managed to piss over a few 'boy racers' gotta love that they actually think they have a chance... good thing i back off before going to much over the speed limit or i might really embarrass them

Ahhh...first big bike :) The memories...every time you take it out that wealth of power at your control makes you feel like the Daddy of them all...as the peasants meander around you in their pitiful, economical vehicles...you think how most of them will never know the kind of acceleration you could experience any freakin' time you want...

...and two weeks later you want a thou' :P Until you ride your current bike in the rain :)

R6_kid
17th October 2005, 17:04
took it out for a quick blat out through SH16 to Kaukapakapa for a pie. Was doing around 160 past a ute and came up to one of those one way bridges so slowed to 80ish, second car to come around the corner was a cop :sweatdrop

really enjoying the bike now, so much better to be able to stay in one gear and always have power when you want it.... sure gets windy on those straights

Might be up for a ride on the weekend. Was gonna take my friend out for a cruise as pillion on sunday so not sure if i will join a group on a ride or just go out on my own.

i've only had it for 4 days and im kinda feeling that way already :niceone:

im sure the 600 will be fun for a long time yet tho. Wait til im on the edge of the tyres then i'll worry about getting a bike with more power/wider tyres.

Yeah...much fun to be had trying to stop the flattening of the rear tyre when you can get away from the commute.

If you're up for a ride...I'm always keen for Old North/ SH16 or something...this weekend especially as Uni's just finished. You might wanna stick by yourself for a bit though aye...just 'til you get used it...other silly buggers might bring out your competitive side before you're used to it.
