Missing posts and phantom pages

Couple of times lately I've seen on the main forum page that there's a new post in a thread. Gone to look and it isn't there.
Today I see there's a page two listed on Ian Staples bike build thread - but it isn't there.
I've had the site drop out on me a few times lately as well.
I've been securely signed in at the times this has happened.

Is this just me, my browser, or a side effect of the new server ?

Sometimes you get a new post notification i thing if someone is in the sinbin posts but it doesn't get shown in the thread until the post is approved by the mods.
But i don't think anyone is in the bin at the moment

But that page two is different as it has been there and clearly there is no second page

Often a new post causes problems because someone inadvertently posted some screwed-up code - usually by screwing around with quotes in the post. The page is there - but won't load. Mental Pants can fix it.

What about a post in 'Settings' that won't go away?
I check it daily and it still sits there, normally they drop off once you've 'visited' them.

Oh and it shows the last post on the thread was made by me - but it isn't my post that's the last one.:confused:

The post I referred to in my initial moan - seen on the index but not there on the thread - was one of yours....

Did you start to do a reply somewhere recently then back out of it ? Had your computer checked for bugs lately ?

Nah, nothing like you've suggested.

It only seems to be that one thread, the rest are all as normal.

It was shown as posted at 11.05. It hadn't appeared on the thread by 11.23. When i next checked at around 11.45 it was there.

Why the delay between appearing as posted on the main forum page and actually being accessible on the thread ?

FWIW it only seems to happen on the first section - General Bike ravings

I've seen many offensive brown things thanks. I was and am happy to simply watch that thread - when I can see the responses.

I do think the OP's withdrawal from it isn't really sporting though, LOL.

There's a post from Flettner at 15:17, followed by another from him at 15:25, then TZ's at 15:49, and there's been two further posts since his.

I can see them now there is a couple of double posts.
Although Katanas has remvoved his.
Flettner looked like his were yoked up as well as he had three goes at posting the same thing

If someone is in the sin bin, then their post wont appear until approved by a mod, or deleted if for any reason I don't like the attitude of the poster.
