Thanks for the heads up. I knew it was on and that Eurosport were covering it, but who'da thunk...
Been watching half an hour or so, I must send SKY an email saying thanks.

Happened to stumble onto Suzuka, watched a little bit. Suzuki blew and the clown rode around with what looked like smoke and oil pumping out.
Rea looked to have it so switched off .:zzzz:

Goes to show that even seasoned professionals can act poorly (ie not leaving the circuit ASAP when engine has gone pop).
That rider on the #2 Suzuki is multiple times world endurance champion.
He knows what he is doing, but even so, screwed up pretty majorly there.

In endurance racing it's a bit different, the priority is to get the bike back to the pits. There are tales of monumental efforts where the rider virtualy collapsed after pushing the bike in. Having said that, the rider should have ridden on the grass, not the track. Well, as far as he could anyway.
As for the Yamaha win, I totally fail to understand that. When I saw that this morning I could just shake my head.

Kawasaki have been given the win by an FIM ruling.

Yeah, just read that the result has been modified.
I am assuming, not having read the ruling, that they considered the oil to be the reason for the red flag, not Rea's crash itself.
Therefore, he has been considered to have been still running, and hence eligible for the victory.
Fair enough I guess.
Still, would have been pretty cool to see van der Mark get his 5th 8hr victory. That would be something special.
They were sponsored by Shiseido.
I wonder if we could get Natural Glow sponsorship here?
Surely would make the bikes look beewedifool.
