GSF250 Motor - What bikes had the same motor?

Hey all

Unfortunately the engine in my '91 GSF250 died, and I'm in need of a new one.
There doesn't seem to be many of these around, but i know that the same engine was used in a few different suzuki's.

Does anyone know what bikes would be a suitable engine donor?

I've been finding a lot of conflicting information as to whether the motors are exactly the same or not. Some had twin carbs, some had quad carbs, some were lower horsepower, some were higher.
I'm trying to find out exactly what models would be compatible. I'm somewhat sure that the earlier GSXR250RR had the same engine with different cams.

I heard that some dodgy old bugger set some up for methanol once & apparently it went ok.:msn-wink:

Magnets from the generator went and sent themselves through the engine. Shiny stuff in the oil and all. I'm not entirely sure its worth the risk and time to rebuild my engine.
Other than that the bike is bloody clean, hence why I'm wanting to fix it rather than just sell it for scrap to the local wreckers. Also I'm bored and need a project.
