On a similar note, anyone want to meet up out Tatters way before heading down to the start? BD? Blu? You guys going?

If Spank does the T-shirt run this week I can even wear my 'patch'.

[Edit: Actually, scratch that. I've got slightly less than zero chance of making it out on Sunday. Bum.]

Fark...there's only $5 million in the lotto fund this week...not enough...big families. Still the UK lotto runs twice a week and it's at about UKP5 million at the mo....that should do...with that I could just come back for a few weeks/months of riding.:scooter:

Spend your winters (our summers) here you reckon? :scooter: Talk about year yound riding!

Imagine the skills you could pick up at one of those superbike schools / summer racing series then come back down here and whip some ass.... :scooter:

If it's the same as last year,,,The Karaka Blood stock center,,,,that's the Horse sales place to you non horse types.
Take the Papakura Karaka turn off,(not Takanini) the next one, and turn right over the bridge, you can't miss it.If your coming from the south it is the turn off after the Dury Pukekohe turn off.Failing that just ride down the Southern
motoway until ya' see lots of cops an bikers.

What?

Urr ummm - it is actually an Annual Event organised by the Ulysses Club... The weather tends to alternate from one year to the next.

Thanx Yama, i realise what the event is i just dont seem to be havin much luck with the weather. I don't get out much (workin when it's nice and sunny) and new to KB and my first two ride outs with them were kinda wet. Fingers crossed for 2moro.

Well, sadly the fact that I am at work right now and am far from finished means I will be working tomrrow and unable to make the ride, which is a shame, as I was really hoping I would be able to, especially after seeing the '03 photos.

Best of luck everyone, have a great ride!

I heard on the mid-day news there were 1700 bikes on the run!!! Wow!!! Even if they cocked up the counting, there must have been a really good turnout. Well done guys. I'll be watching for it on the news - I hope there's going to be tv coverage, it's such good positive PR for bikes/bikers.

Glad to have done the run and got the badge to prove it. Great to meet up with some of you for the last time for a while. Nice to meet Kasper complete with tiger suit, and Pete the Pom.

Official count at the end was just over 1000...or was that the number of badges sold?? Who knows?

It was great to see such a huge turn out, of all bikers from all cultures.

The weather was great, apart from the short downpour at the end of the ride.

Check the gallery for the photo uploads.

BB great to see you again. You were the last person I expected to turn up in my mirror!

Good day, a must for next year!!

thanks for the coments on the suit.

hmm did any one else suffer breakages from the ride.

Like havign the exhaust break off from the engine.

sounded like a mix between a prop plane and a machine gun on the way back to Tauranga. ears stilll ringing after 10 minutes off the bike

What a great day. I must say I was a bit nervous about meeting up with the KBers for the first time but thankfully PetethePom decided to meet me at Red Beach and we headed down together. At a lot slower pace than he is used to so I gather. Well me on 250 and he on his sexy purple ZXR1100.

Damn rain meant a very uncomfortable ride but we arrived safely at Cyclespot to see Kasper in the amazing Tiger Suit...damn the kids loved it mate :D and SpankMe was a great chance to see the SV up close and personal. And no I dont want to buy one of them suits Kasper...ummm not ever. Not even a tea cosy for me helmet dude!

Thanks to Gixxer (and NuanH) for being the Tail End Charlie(s) and looking out for those of us on not so quite fast bikes! I noticed how you looked out for us all...thanks again. Followed an MV Augusta most of the way to the end and must say they mighty fine bikes.

I made a dash home early as it looked like the heavens were about to open. Got a damn cold for me troubles.

Cheers Guys :2thumbsup

What an awesome run. Great to help raise the profile and some bucks for the rescue helicopter (especially since we're the ones likely to need it). How come we can get so many bikes in one place for a charity run and yet we can't seem to co-ordinate that sort of response for a protest at the ACC levies we all moan about so much??? Your thoughts?????
