As the thread title says. Show us you $45ish(VTNZ adds about $10) a year regoed motorcycles that you use on a regular basis and a few details about it.

Mine is a '76 CB550 Super Sport I bought in 1986. Back on the road after a 10 year hiatus. Around $400 saw it back on the road in reliable condition and spent a few more $ doing a bit of alteration to suite me. Not the most economical bike compared to new bikes in this class but I find it fun to ride and that is what really matters.

Let's see yours.

1956 BSA A10, did 440 miles on it over those three days, knocked up a few thousand km on it in the last few months

Awesome. Obviously has enough "puff" outside the city limits. Just gave the CB550 a clean and check over. Lucky I did as the RH rear foot peg/exhaust mount mounting bolt was a bit lose, which could have been a bit embarrassing out on a skoot if it fell out completely..

I thought i was doing good for $100 a year in Tasmania. You get $45 a year! You are so lucky. I hope its okay, This is my 82 GS1000 with wisco big bore kit i picked up for and absolute bargain $600. I still have to do a couple of things before i can get it pitted and registered. The price your getting and the roads you have over there im tempted to put my bikes in a small boat and swim over to NZ. $45 bucks,, wow.

Cool. Had those shocks with chrome springs on my last GSX750EX. Cheap as chips but do the job when set up properly. Most of my '80s stuff I fitted KO)NIs on though. Replacement side covers are readily availably for the ,80s GS series these days for a reasonable price.

That's only for stuff over 40 years old.
Don't ask how much a modern bike over 600cc costs.

Its 30 years here. Half price for 125cc and $100 for classic rego. It works out $200 cheaper that way than registering the big bike by itself. So a postie bike in the shed would pay for itself in a few years They also just gave over 65 year old free drivers licence. I cant wait ....

This will be on the classic rego, once I finish making it legal (just waiting for indicators).

I've been trying to find a standard seat for it, to no avail.
Anyone know anyone that wants to swap for a cafe seat?

Hi, Try Darryl at sales@japmcdismantlers.co.nz or you could try to ring him on 021 662 851 but usually email is best.

Owned this machine for over 20 years. Started her and ran her for a few minutes last week, gave her a wash, a polish and some new gas. Switched her off, put her back under her sheet and went inside.
Usually take her for a warranted ride (Rego on hold, 12 months at a time) But Warrant is always current. Flys through, every time!
Love this old girl, shes going no where, 1 1/2 years, the rego goes to $78.00 per year, cant wait.

This is mine, a 1980 CBX1000, I am the third owner. Completely unrestored. Sat in someones garage for 21 years, the tyres still the mold marks on them.

Amazing sound and incredibly smooth to ride. Unlike anything else I have ever ridden.

That does look minty. I'll have to come kick the tyres when we are mobile again.

theyre nice in black, with the black wheels, i could never figure why hondas first year didn't match the sidecovers to the tank and tailpeice, also why when they had done a superb job oo the same years 900 and 740 ensuring the tank sidecovers and tailpeice flowed into each other they didn't do it on these. it was owned by a sid te peho (spelling in palmy) was it?

Cool I'll pop round. . .

If it runs rough and plugs are good there is more invasive cleaning of airjets that ultrasonic won't get. But it might have been stored dry.

Morning me ol mate! Yep, shes still in the fold, refused to start yesterday.
Guess it's time to replace the old Shorai battery, first time in 10 years, since she got it that she hasn't started.
1 Year earlier and I could have kick started her.
Happily ensconced in Nukuhau Taupo now Flubby, will pm the addy etc, in case you are down this way, anytime!:msn-wink:
