That seems a long way off to be cancelling it. On the other hand, ordering all the bars and pubs in Ireland to close the day before St Patrick's Day would be classified as short notice.

given the travel inplications and the world wide nature of the event that was a sitting duck simply, plus the way things are evolving the medical back up will be impossible to obtain anyway.
wise and expected choice

And before anyone jumps on me about free choice and blah blah, for I understand all of that, I for one found the final paragraph in the IOM TT press release to be rather ironic.

You'd think they could have waited another month or so, or looked at a postponement. But I'm sure they have their reasons.

Disappointing but not surprising. At one point last week the UK's contingency planning was modelling 500000 deaths. Deaths. Not including acute illness etc: their current contingency planning is for 250000 deaths. Here's a factoid for you - all medical specialists in NZ have been told that when the shit hits the fans that they will all be deployed to wards to look after really sick people. So you're an opthalmologist or neurosurgeon? Tough titty, glove up and get out there.
They also dont think that there will be enough PPE either.
Shit's bad, yo, or it will be.
