She's not looking good.
Sand country cancelled now this morning Tussock Buster which for 2nd time is a blow.
Only small sub 500 people rides for now. At least until another change reducing numbers.
Poos!

Indeed. There are some awful stories from Spain and Italy about accident victims being unable to receive treatment or operations.
Looks like WESS is stuffed, too. First 2 rounds, Portugal and Spain are canned. No doubt Erzberg will be, too.
This is shite. All my winter pleasure has been cancelled.
Can anyone recommend a good tyre for riding in wet clay?

Do they clear in wet clay mixed with super glue? At low speeds in the trees.

Two laps and one off was enough, couple of things I need to do to the IT200 to make it even better for the next one, that was just a test ride
Already raised and moved the bars forward, need another chain to put the bigger rear sprocket on as it's a little over geared
I'm actually more keen to try some of the Enduro sections on the IT200 than my RMX250

I don’t do much real slow anymore or slick to be fair, they did need a bit of speed to clear from memory, more 2nd vs 1st.

Was getting all excited over possible level 2 change a few days back. Esp as regional travel will be allowed.
Until someone pointed out that it will be sub 100 people for outdoor events too. Some may run invite only club events but the economics of organising for a small number will be hard to justify.

i think the bike parks are already opening. (moto central, flightpath, the sand put and taikorea all opened this weekend)
the big trail rides may be some time off, but come late june or july hopefully they are up and running, with teh rules changing day by day at the moment it would be hard to the organisers to plan stuff,

Fuck knows, I wondered about that myself, they had several separate car park areas and vehicles 4m apart, everyone had their temp checked as they entered and each car park had it's own sign in area
But there considerably more than 10 people at it as there will be on the 7th and 28th of next month for the next ones

But I'd like to get down that way for a decent ride sometime. I'd bring the van and we'd have our own eurotrash 300s anyhoo. Huski 300 wouldn't mind a try mind:yes:

I am still getting the huski set up, working on the gearing at the moment factory gearing on the first trail ride was way too high and the lowest I could do with the sprockets I have were way too low on the last ride so I will try the factory WR250 gearing on the next one which is about half way between the two. Also I was talking to Linton at dirt action about getting springs with better rates for my fat arse before the lockdown and he mentioned a rider needs to take into account height as well as weight when setting up spring rates on dirt bikes, I did not know that interesting stuff.

Since when has a KDX200 been a 4 stroke? I suggest the fine for this transgression, obviously brought on by senility and poor eyesight should be the immediate handing over of the IT to my good self for proper evaluation and testing.

I thought you would have been on the yellow thing, the fact you couldn't get up that hill on a KDX200 really brings the question of your ability into focus
I should be doing the ride on the 7th and 28th so if I see you on those you can have a go on it while I ride your lesser machinery

Wondering if an electric MB e.g, a Sur- Ron is allowed to participate in the TR's ? Looks like they go like fuck. Just the bike for me now.
Appreciate your input. Haven't bought one yet, testing the water.
Already done one, next one on the 28th
Looks more like an MTB than Motorcycle, you'd have to ask the organisers
It'd need at least a 40km range, maybe more depending on the loop

I will not lie, I am happy to be a fair weather trail rider. I have road ridden 4 hours in the pouring cold rain and done the same ride when the temperature was 0 degrees.
ridden through porters pass wiping snow off my visor every 10 seconds. I have even road raced with snow on the ground but I find nothing more soul destroying than
being wet cold covered in mud and stuck in a gully on some cockies farm.

I'm torn between the 200rr, X trainer or a 200cc full comp trials bike.
Which bikes did your ride?
What's best for an elderly gentlemen who can't ride for shit but really likes technical riding?
Is their a cure?

I have previously ridden the xTrainer and it was very good. I went to ride the 200rr but it was simply too tall for a shortarse like me so I rode the xtrainer again. This has cemented it for me-xtrainer will be my next trail bike if I can sell my Triumph. A very capable bike given the shortcomings of its suspension.

Crikey, I expected the 200rr to be a bit lower.
I rode with 3 guys on 300's a few months ago, well, I spoiled 3 guys day as they waited for me to catch up every time I rolled off. 2 KTM's and a Sherco.
They made everything look easy and could not praise the bikes highly enough, proper tractors and very agile. Some very challenging riding and well above my fitness level.

The forestry sections quickly turned to low traction dust. The climbs got tricky. Fired myself into a wire fence/rider/bike sandwich at one stage..... Feeling my age today.

I think everyone missed that arrow, there was a pretty big queue for the little climb at the end of the gully, got out of there ok, lap two of two a couple of the hill sections were a bit of a challenge, cut up badly, big tree roots and I bypassed the third one because it was total shit, the early nineties KDX200 I was on was brilliant
Towed a 2020 Beta 300 out on the first lap as it had done a main bearing at 25 hours

Martinborough Enduro, steep hill, special test, I looked at the electric fence, got tangled in it for an hour. It took a sweep holding the rear tire up so I could untangle the wire from the footpeg & get it out, it was quick with 2. Wiser in hindsight to take the slightly slower line away from the fence & not be chasing the rider in front
