Hi guys, new to this.

Just wandering if any of you have fitted bar risers to a 2018 Vstrom 650? I am about to fit a set and am keen to know if there are any issues with any of the cables being a bit short? Risers are 25mm..

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Rules apply for every conversion,. Must check length of cables. Throttle can become stretched at full lock which will become amusing as it pulls 1/16th throttle as you are doing a lowspeed maneuver at more speed than expected.

The front wheel off the ground take bars off and try fit risers while seeing how much strain is on brake cables. If it is still not slack., you need long line or,. . . well you can imagine pulling a mini wheelie topping out forks and stress fracturing the banjo joint the 63rd time till it opens and. .

At one point I fitted 25mm risers to my bike (Street Triple) - the only issue I had was length of brake cable but I undid it and ran it down the front of the fork leg with a little ghetto homemade standoff thinking I would replace the cable. I didnt like the bar risers so took them off but never bothered with the cable re-routing. Like Dave says just be a bit careful and it'll be sweet.

Noraly, she of 'Itchy Boots' fame, burned out her clutch in Iran. The mechanics suggested she ditch her bar risers which they felt may have been creating permanent tension on the clutch cable.

Yes to the DL. You could possibly go more but definitely 25mm.
