What an interesting and novel advertising approach.
And what's not to like about the supercharged Thruxton?
I dislike fascists generally and that man seems .... misinformed. And semi-literate.
But the supercharged Thruxton is nice.

As HDC said, a novel approach to marketing. Start by alienating a large chunk of your potential customers.
What dealership is that?
Classic motorcycles in Tauranga. I see they have a postie bike for almost 5k.
However looking at the owners background the advertising speil becomes clear

Shame. Jay had one in those colours for a wee while. Never ridden the 400 either. There were a few about but oddly we looked down on them back in the day , as jap imports, restricted at that, and 'not the real thing.' Should probably grow out of that. I'll put it on the list for new years resolutions . Which I never make, but it's the thought that counts.

Sounds like somebody suffered buyers remorse there.
I bought my 2003 RS125 new in 2005 & the dealer wouldn't hear of giving me a cent off the $10,750 asking price.
The after sales service was worse than abysmal too. In the end after the shop owner had yelled at me, swept everything off his desk on to the floor in one sweep of his arm for effect & pulled a notebook from his top pocket & started interviewing me like a angry policeman (he was an ex cop) he broke down in tears. It was truly one of the strangest situations I've found myself in.
All I wanted to do was discuss the eccentric rear sprocket carrier causing the chain to run tight & loose as the wheel rotated, it's not like it wasn't causing me a problem.

You have a gift for understatement.
Alienating potential customers doesn't seem a clever move. There have been instances reported on social media from the US where a tradesman has arrived at a house sporting a MAGA sticker on his truck. The response was to the effect, "Sorry, can't use you."
Similarly it would probably not be good for business to turn up to a job in one of the southern states sporting a "Black Lives Matter" sticker on your truck.
Big business buys politicians, below that level political neutrality seems a good idea.

There are consistent patterns among these wannabe dictators. I was listening to a Brit podcast about Belsonaro the Brazilian President, any of his appointments who get too popular get the axe.
Muldoon got rid of anybody with talent, he perceived them as a threat, his last cabinet was far from a brains trust. They almost all later claimed they had no idea what was going on.
Trump's White House has a churn rate seldom seen, but additionaly he currently has a cabinet full of self abasing sycophants. None are chosen for their knowledge or experience, they are there because they swore loyalty to Trump. When Trump finally acknowledged there was a pandemic he appointed his son in law and Vice President to head task forces. Neither of them was qualified to do their job and they both hired others who were similarly unqualified. The results are plain to see, 80,000 dead and counting.

Good point. I had this argument today but was only guessing. It's good to do the maths but also a bit scary...
I'm sure someone will be along shortly and correct me if I'm wrong:
80,000 is 0.025% of 328m. Not a big percentage I suppose. But then do the same sum for 5m: =1250, which seems pretty significant.
Of course, this is just hypothetical because the US haven't peaked yet...

I love lots of American things. With very few exceptions all the Americans I have known have been really nice people. Like I have never struck IRL the slavering MAGA heads or the Karens or whatever. Having said that like attracts like (and apparently a vanishingly small percentage of Yanks have passports) so the ones I have met are maybe the outliers? Who knows?
But American "stuff" - man they have the cool stuff. Cars up till 1972, electric guitars, rock and roll. Tesla. SpaceX, Blue Origin etc.
Let me tell you what I actually think. The high point of the American empire was July 20, 1969. Because landing those guys on the Moon, and bringing them back is the absolutely coolest thing we as a species have ever done. Literally it started going to shit after that. But that optimism, that devotion of tremendous efforts by hundreds of thousands of people, the invention of entire branches of technology, the coming back from awful setbacks, all of that stuff and to get it done the first go? Absolutely amazing. There's an apocryphal story that (just to take one example) that they could not build an F-1 rocket engine today because a lot of it is hand made, just a wee bit different from the blueprints, and the guy who knew how to do it? Yeah, he died. The coolest feature of the F1 engine (apart from the fact that it worked at all) - the fuel pump. Google that shit, its amazing.
Anyway: whats fucked about America now? Money. Large corporates. Because they own the politicians then oddly, the politicians cater to the 1%. It really is that simple. That is why their health system is fucked (unless you have money). That is why there is no meaningful change. That is why the cancer of racism will not go away. Thats why is been at war since Vietnam - they have an entire military industrial congressional complex to feed.
Will it get better soon? I dont see it. Will there be another civil war or secessions? I hope not in my lifetime.

The Karel Sroubek saga couldn't have been handled any worse than that Lees Galloway ding bat did either. The list goes on.
This, White Is and the Chch episode are the best things to have happened to labour. Great distractions from their day to day incompetence which the masses have largely forgotten about cause 'our Jacinda' is a really good baby kisser. Without them they would have nothing.

When this is all done you will be back to the same endless fuck ups such as but not limited to Kiwi build (the prize fuck up of all time), the young Labour party sexual abuse, bullying by senior Labour party members which a minister lost their job over, that (communications?) minister that lied about secret meetings over which she lost her job, canning off shore drilling that cost how many jobs, wasting how much money and time on the Pike River mine, spending more time out of the country than in it, the gun buy back fiasco, hiring and paying some headmaster $500k AFTER he was shown to be pedo.
Yep Labour, fucking top notch except when it comes to actually running the country.
No. You've been in the US long enough to pick up the classic Trumpist "but what about" arguments. A couple of posts about how shit things are in the US and it's Divert and distract.
You're in the right place. Stay there, you really wouldn't like it here.
Personally, I'm bloody glad it's Labour in power atm. When I look at the shitheap National left when they tried to deal with the ChCh quakes I can only imagine how many would have died under national.
They would have had the same advice from the same experts - but interpreted it differently. You've only got to look at what Bridges has said during the lockdowns to get the gist of how they'd have gone.
I do wonder though if your anti Ardern attitude is anti women. You do come across as mysogynist and scared of strong women. Very Trumpist.

What percentage of 328 million (the usa population) is 80,000?
I was thinking about this and it seems you've managed to somehow miss the
enormity of what has been happening in the US. There have been pictures of bodies being loaded into the back of refrigerated trucks with forklifts in New York because all the morgues were full. There were photographs of rows of coffins in mass graves.
There has been nothing like that here and hopefully there won't be.

Bought a new Triumph Daytona 900 309, still got it. The guzzi wouldn't have lasted. .
Bugger of man... It would out last any triumph, providing it wasn't a small block 4v...

No, it hasn't been lost on me at all.
Someone on here recently was adamant that the death rate for this deadly virus was around 3.5 percent, which based on the population of the US would be around 11.5 million.
Yep, there have been pictures of refrigerated trucks with forklifts. Did you actually see the bodies?
Anyway, if their leader is some kind of mental retard, I'd rather not buy into it. It's not a requirement to buy into all the troubles of the world.

Those bastards need to sort their shit out, it makes it harder for us to trade with them.

Similar photographs of that mass grave site have appeared in coverage by many American and international news organisations. Pretty much everybody except possibly Fox. Most of the photographs appear to have been taken using drones or helicopters. It seems reasonable to assume the island, or at least that part of it, is not open to the public.

The only foolish bit was that he used the clapped out Hi Ace that had a rather large billboard with his photograph, name & political party on the side.
That really amounts to a failed intelligence test.
I had a sign written company car for a number of years, but I also had a number of the most un noticeable courtesy cars (silver BMW E46 sedans) which made me invisible if and when required.
