cost of registering a scooter with lapsed vehicle registration

Hey, so I bought a moped on trade me and it turns out the vehicle registration was lapsed. I'm reading up on it now and a bunch of sites say like 200-300 dollars in inspection fees. I probably should've checked the registration before but oh well, does anyone know how much it might cost to get it road legal again? Cheers for any help :)

I let one of my bikes rego lapse, cost me $150 to have it re-complied and then rego after that.

Check it hasnt been written off by insurance or it may be uneconomical to do.
