any ideas for how to improve headlights by adding extra lights? Have put brighter bulbs... the problem is where the cutoff is, at night while cornering the cut off dips too far into the corner and you have no idea what u are riding into..
The key is... where do you mount them. ?

Just thought of getting a double bubble and then mounting a Hella Comet FF100 / 300 inside the front of the screen. Think that will work?

You shouldn't be riding that fast at night.......
Will be planning a ride down 22 at night one of these days - you should come along.

Stupid cut off dip beams, they are not made for motorcycle use,but regs require them. You want a round spot type beam, good old low efficiency round headlamp.Your headlamp should dip straight down, not to the side or that will compromise cornering opposite the dip.Get some Hella FF driving lamps, one narrow, one flood - but you still can't use them on dip...bugger eh?

Cheers Motu,
Are you allowed to use the flood (fog) lamp legally while on low beam? And I'll probly wire the factory hi beam directly to the driving lamp (narrow).

was thinking about this the other day.. what about going to a car store and buying a pair of those small round driving lamps, then mount them facing upwards and slightly off to the side, off the road, then when you're taking a corner, it'll shine roughly where you're heading. Put them on a switch so you can turn them on and off as needed, and just unscrew them when you go for your WOF

I fitted some Hella FF 50 driving lamps to my XLV750,I could reach down and adjust them while riding - point them out a tad for twisty or gravel roads, straight ahead for open road. They've made new rules so you can't do that, but if you're out on back roads who's to know?

You could trade the gixxer on a R1150GS

Too much reflection, it'll blind you.
Try mounting a driving light under the fairing nose, if you have enough clearance from the front guard on full fork compression.

just checked... its a Gixxer! no clearance :crybaby:
might be able to fix the reflection problem by partitioning off a section of the scree. still looking for a suitable screen thou.
Other option is to make a bracket for mounting where the indicators are... but looks ugly

You could try eating lots of carrots.
