IÂ’m a worried man with a worried mind did Bob Dylan sing...
A lot of changes have come mostly for the detriment of freedom and quality of life, ill list a few pivotal things... add what IÂ’ve missed...
The 80’s—-
We kicked butt in AmericaÂ’s Cup and put our design skills on show
The deep state sank a civilian ship to remind us who runs the world
Political moves destabilised our economic base of primary food production
90Â’s
The internet arrived allowing one access to much more information and instantly.
Cellphones arrived, saving lives youÂ’d have to say in roadside emergencies, same time restricting our private lives outside of work being contactable 24/7
Ruthless economic and social reforms transformed society for good and bad
Y2K onwards
Several terror incidents lead to major changes in freedoms as we entered an eternal war with an invisible enemy.
Education systems stop teaching practical skills as we move to a “ knowledge” economy whatever the hell that was supposed to be
Lacking skilled workers successive govts drive economy with mass immigration stressing infrastructure and housing supply.
A softly softly approach to crime lead to a meth epidemic and explosion of gang culture, Pablo Escobar was like what you mean cops arent armed, get me to nz now.
Several virus incidents lead to major changes in our freedoms as we enter an eternal war with another invisible enemy...
So... what did I miss? WhatÂ’s next?
If you could Turn back the clock and live permanently in one years timezone, be it the bikes of the day, the freedoms of the day, or the food or culture of that time, what year would it be for you?
