Hi all,
I'm in Hamilton and looking for a specific bike, hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction or recommend something else I may like.
I'm looking for a 1994 VT250 Magna, I had one and had the baffles removed and it sounded and looked amazing.
Open to suggestions on other bikes and yes only on Learners license.
Cheers,
Newbie.

The CB1100 EX would be an excellent everyday commuter bike. It's freeway capable but extremely easy to ride around town, all while holding its own well enough in corners. This could be the one bike you own if you were only going to own one bike.

not much point in asking us... its for you, you have to decide, its a personal choice...HOWEVER, when you know what you want post up and we can offer guidance and advice.

Are you only wanting a cruiser?
What is it about the Magna that you like?
Do you like sport bikes?
Would you be looking at doing any track days?
Is the bike for commuting, or a weekend toy?
How handy are you with a spanner? Would you be able to perform maintenance on your bike? Willing to learn?
How heavy/tall are you?
What other bikes have you ridden? Did you like/dislike them? Why/why not?

And you can make it look like this with a kit from Japan.

An R1 with nitrous and knobblies would be the obvious choice for a learner, I mean if he didn't want to seem like a pussy.

It's about this stage that someone usually suggests.... Ah well, it might as well be me.
Have you considered a Hyabusa?

Have you considered a Hyabusa?
I commuted on one for nearly 5 years, excellent Choice...
However - the Mandate was being a Learner - There's some excellent choices in the bigger CC LAMS market, including cruiser style bikes - Such as the Kawasaki Vulcan or the Suzuki Boulevard.

That'll be why I posted the LAMS list. Before whimsy intruded.

Well ... If he is going to get ticketed for riding outside the conditions of his license ... he might as well go BIG ... :shifty:

The future is adv style.
Get a road legal dirt bike and super mortard it.
Or just leave it dirt style and enjoy the slides.
Seriously you'll embarrass your sportbike mates on our shitty roads.
Then get a KTM1290 wolf in sheeps clothing on the road....

Oh yeah, start with the LAMS list and go from there.
Best we don't talk of Magna 250 on here

The Kymco Vennox is the same bike (made by Kymco).
If you are thinking of s/hand I'd go as far as suggesting the wee Suzuki S40 (savage), 650cc single, probably no faster than the Magna, but a lot more grunt. I sometimes ride Vicki's to work etc, It's actually bloody good commuting, and has plenty of torque in and around traffic, will hold 100kph comfortably.

Don't touch a S40(LS650) with a barge pole. They are shit bikes. Look okish if you like that style of bike but shit non the less. Dad had one and he's had been riding for a few decades and he even said they were shit..

personal opinion... and with any bike at any time you can and will get a lemon... the Suzuki 650 single... should be as good as a single gets...

that's your opinion etc, as for 'looks ok, etc' not everyone in life wants, or rides, a penis extension.
I've been riding a 'few' decades too, and do not hold the same opinion as your Dad, horses for courses!
