I'm always wanted to ride a bike, been driving for the past few years in South Island and im making a big move up to Welly. Will be keen to learn how to ride and buy a new bike! Any advice/recommendation? I will be using it to comment to work everyday 5days a week from Lower Hutt to Mt Cook area

Welcome to the madhouse - Look up the 'Ride forever' website to look for registered trainers in the Wellington area. as for a first bike - Well there's plenty about so have a think about your budget and what it is you want to do with said bike when you buy it. :drool:
