Too hard to get a proper handle on how it looks from the pics. I'm a bit of a Busa fan I suppose, and I've chuckled every time the rumour of a Gen3 has popped up. Would have to see it in the flesh.
I was hoping the Katana revamp from a year or two ago would look better in the flesh, but nope that was rather hideous to me.

Sorry was only putting that up as it appeared on my YT suggestions, but I see the timing makes it look like a response.

No need to apologise OAB, for I wasn't in the least offended :niceone::eek:

Hope I didn't offend you by inferring you were offended by my use of the word 'sorry', certainly meant no offense.

My tendency to being offended is transient in the extreme :oi-grr:
The endless teasing about Busa Gen3 was having an eminently soporific effect on many true Busa fans.
Now that Suzuki has announced a launch date, fair to say I'm slowly coming out of my slumber :sweatdrop:woohoo:

I dare say I'm kinda getting a touch excited...
I loved my Gen2 Bus - but there were certain things that all the cool kids had that it was lacking and she was getting a bit long in the tooth.
I could be tempted...

I dunno, if I was in the market for a Busa again (last I owned one was nigh 20 years ago) I'd be hoping for less incremental improvements and more kicking-it-out-of-the-park design radicalism. But hey, that's academic for me these days, and I'm sure there'll be buyers. Not too thrilled with the exhaust tho'.

So like Flamethrowers as a standard option?

The Motorcyclenews video on Youtube, which I watched last night, spends some 20+ minutes going through the new bike. It's well worth a watch.
I rather like the look of it and the fact that they've stayed true to the look and ethos (It's still long and low for example) of the previous versions. The fact that the engine is an updated version of the previous seems to be getting people's attention but personally I'm not that surprised to see this happen. It still make 185+Bhp at any rate and the additional electronics will make it as fast if not faster in real life anyway.
It'll be interesting to see what it's priced at when we see it here in NZ.

I'm told it will be somewhere north of 28k but under 30k, my Suzuki shop tells me . They don't have much information either.
Should be here in the first quarter of this year. Bit underwhelmed personally. I like the purity of the original design and expected something with more jumbo. The extra modes and less power and torque leave me cold. It's the Hayabusa in ' light alcohol ' mode. Disappointed.
I'll hang onto my Gen 2. Still get's along Ok.

Having seen the MCN video, it's a thorough review of all the relevant specs and all that, but yeah I'm kinda underwhelmed the Busa apparently turned into a sanitised beast.
My 2013 Busa with the ABS is an insane bike, and whilst I'm over it in some ways...every time I spend a day on it, the notion of selling or trading it somehow vanishes.
I've got an FJR of the same vintage, and whilst it's basically a fridge, it does everything my Busa does in a more civilized fashion without actually stirring the soul
If the new Busa retails in that 28-30k range it's on par with the ZX14 which is end of life apparently.
The scariest aspect is that I'm looking at K1600GT and R1250RS or RT as my next options, as in moving from two bikes to one only :shit: and it is starting to make sense somehow :devil2:
Yeah ok, I need help :bleh:

Blimey Rob - Snap out of it man!
As for the new Busa - I think I'm alone in not being underwhelmed. I'm looking forward to seeing one in the flesh but I hope that they don't try to slap a premium price onto it. That won't work IMHO.

All good Lee, a more refined Busa in some ways makes sense, and it certainly is more refined ;) but that makes it less of a Busa at the same time

You're right Rob - I think that the Busa's reason for being has always been to be the biggest, fastest and mostest bike out there. However the market's moved on (Witness the demise of Honda and Kawasaki's competitors) and so it's no real surprise to see an evolution rather than anything more radical.
The biking press have already made their minds up by the look of it - Which is a shame as I suspect that the bike will have a negative shadow cast over it now which I don't think it deserves. :oi-grr:
