Morning all!

I am a fellow biker from South Africa that has recently moved to New Zealand.

I have been riding for 15+ years and had to sell my bike when we moved to NZ about 2 years ago.

Relocated from wellington To Auckland in the last month or so and there is a need now for a second vehicle :) (cough cough bike cough cough)

Now in South Africa, I had the luxury of a very predictable weather system and rarely had to suit up for wet weather (unless it was planned mud fun :devil2: ).

How is the weather in the mornings in general for riding? Afternoons I don't mind as heading home one can jump the shower.

Some pics from my previous riding in South Africa.

One thing I learned when we moved to NZ (Auckland) ages ago, you have to be prepared for all four seasons in a day.

Get some good riding gear and you won't have to worry about the weather  Goretex comes to mind

I'm a convert for Goretex, the only thing that has kept me dry in Auckland rain without a wetsuit.

Prepare for all seasons, dress in layers. I remember one trip, went out in arvo in a mesh summer jacket, beautiful hot weather. A couple of hours later I got properly drenched...

Auckland does have predictable weather - 4 seasons in a day, every day! Prepare for that and you'll be sweet. An oversuit will work find if you can be bothered putting 2 layers on, or Goretex if you only want to deal with 1 layer. I personally don't wear work clothes under my gear, so I don't turn up too crinkly or wet for work (corporate office with a dress code).
