Want to give my bike a Birthday and am looking for a skilled painter who can paint the entire bike in matte paint, well at least with satin clear.

Lee from James Lee Design is no longer in business; he let me down several times anyway, so I get why.

Muzza from Bumpershop is specialising in Ducati Service and his boy lacks the attention to detail this job needs. I've seen his work; it's oh-kay, but I want a great job.

Most Car Painters seem only interested in Insurance work, think Bikers want too nice a job, or they want to skin you alive. I took an easy job to Rosies a while back. Much humming and harring and sucking of teeth (standing outside the shop).... Oooh mate, it's easily a thousand dollars. What bull. (It was less than 1/2 that.) Just not interested. Another shop painted my front bumper after some fool backed into me. (Insurance job) A year later it's a mess of stone chips because they did a shit job.

This job WILL be a thousand dollars (plus). All I want is a factory quality paint job and not to be ripped off. My mates in Auckland know a guy who is "an "artist, does a flawless job, for a fair price." Is there anyone like that is Christchurch? Or is that too big an ask?

Or maybe the question should be: What's the cheapest way to get a fairing, tank and wheels to Auckland?

A guy I know recommended Scootec/Plastec on Wordsworth Street. I took my bike down to get a quote for some bits to be painted to match my bike. The painter there, Cameron, seems to know his stuff. Happy to post some pictures once the jobs done - probably next couple of weeks. Also having a bicycle frame refinished by the same outfit.

there's a lot of gorillas riding roadwhales down there with pretty colours, don't think the guys who painted them wanted them unhappy, just asl one of them into a green area and shout them a latte and you'll get the right painter i'm sure

Have you asked at various m/c shop staff and customers for suggestions?

There's a high probability that some one in Nelson, Blenheim, Dunedin or Invercargal is up to the task as well.
