so....Iv been a vero customer for ever, so was about to just go with them no questions asked... but just rang swann and they will damn near half the premium, had me thinking so rang kiwibike insurance... will do both bikes as one and cheaper again... so prices ranging from 400- 1100 WTF!

But more importantly what are these companies like should you make a claim... ???
tell me ya thoughts and hit the poll with who you rate...

Kiwibike is a broker, not an insurer, so depending on options, you could be with Swann via Kiwibike (I am). Worked for me when I had a claim a decade ago...

Swann for us, 1 classic,@$78.00 per year while on hold. For a payout of $4.5 K if lost.
2 modern's combined total of 20-25 K @ $ 1,100.00, with total gear replacement to $3.5 K for rider and $1.5 K for pillion, track dyas covered with notice and no sign of timing equipment.
Claimed on wifes bike 10 yr's ago, once they were told the Police hadn't ascribed blame they returned our no claims bonus, been with them ever since, getting dearer, but no one else is close for the benefits.:2thumbsup

Have a good read of the fine print in the Swann policy...

Another issue can be insured value. Neither Swann or Star will do agreed value cover, so you may not get what you think your bike is worth, especially with the increased prices for used bikes.

I went with AA because I could get the level of cover I wanted, rather than what the insurance company decided it was worth.

Aon Insurance. Members of IAM get special rates in recognition of Roadcraft training. Saved $100 against my Swann policy through Kiwibike. Only $100 excess too.

Used to be with Vero, now with Star.

Had one claim with Vero, handled well.

But price is important.

Always ring round, it only takes a few minutes.

Changing my bike this week. After over 15 years with Vero and no claims they only wanted to know the value of the bike I am getting. Came in the wrong side of $800 fully comp. Swann were mid 700's while KiwiBike gave me two quotes in the mid 500's matching Protecta.

Can't rate any of them as I have never made a claim so am going with price. Not sure basing your decision on who is best to deal with when you do make a claim is the best choice. How often do you have to fall off to have that view?

I have just changed to Kiwibike ins, just under $800 for 2 bikes fully comp. last insurer put their premium up 40% since last year hoping I would blindly pay...

I have agreed value with Star, and through Kiwibike Ins.

I have agreed value with Star, and through Kiwibike Ins.Star doing agreed value must be recent. I changed to AA (Vero) from Kiwibike a couple of years ago as Star would not give me the agreed value cover I wanted for the R1.

I will check with Kiwibike when it's time to renew. The AA policy isn't cheap, but I do have 50% more cover.
