And I can have a cup of tea whenever I want!

750cc of Suzuki's best ringa ding ding in fact.

And I finally got it started after kicking for half an hour, draining the carbs, cleaning the plugs, finally kick kick kick kick - and it burst into life. THEN I looked at the handlebars -uh what's this button - oh SHIT - that's right the GT750 has  an electric start .

Starts fine now but, so I don't need the wimpy lectric thing.

And its filled the basement with lovely 2 smoke. Mrs Ixion is NOT impressed though "why did you have to buy another one of those noisy smokey smelly ones. " She does not understand these things.

Nice an simple too . None of these darn powervalves and other complicated stuff. Just a crankshaft , conrod and piston. And a barrel and head. That's how engines should be. Not all that complicated stuff going round and round and round and round and up and down and up and down and and and ... uh anyway, it's simple, see, so it's more reliable.

The final statement of the classic touring two smoker. There'll never be anything like them made ever again. Alas.

Yeah, I know the Kockasucki was even simpler cos it had air cooling. But Kockasuckies want to kill me, the contract is still out on me

Two smokers rule, OK.

(Oh, I've named it Petal. Inevitable I guess)

Somebody has to tell you this.
Sit down.
You are sick.
You need help.
It will be OK.
A waterbottle? you're kidding.

Believe it or not, my old man went from Mach 111's to a Suzuki GT750.
I'll dig up and scan a photo of them.

I remember as a very young boy listening to him start the bike to go to work.
Sometimees it would go like "bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, briiinnnngggg dinng ding ding"

but occasionally it would go like " bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, bbrr, .....(add another 30 bbrrs ands also a bit of foul language from him that a 5 year old boy doesn't understand).. and finally briiinnnngggg dinng ding ding....." .

He loved his Kettle.

Oh,nice - disc or da double drum?

I didn't have one for a couple of years...didn't because the owner forgot where he left it,until one day he said - ''hey, have you still got my water bucket?'' Bugger....

The electic leg didn't work (I think that's why I had it,was supposed to fix it) but they are easy to kick. This one had a 3 into 1,the header pipes went into a 3in drain pipe, then into a tailpipe with baffle in the end.Fat and ungainly with stuff all steering lock, you got to get off the bike and saw away with a multi point turn in confined spaces. My workshop was at the bottom of the section, and up a grass hill to the house, and the safety of the drive - the GT750 was almost impossible to get up,it would bog out,but a slip of the clutch would send it into wheelspin...I would need my wife and both girls to get it up the hill.Bikes in use were kept under the house.

I kinda figured you might end up with one of these, the ultimate big street smoker, good one!

Great bike. My first ride on a big Jap bike was a cop GT750. It was so smooth and torquey . (especially compared to the XS500 Yams we were training on).
Good on you for keeping one alive.
