Hospital bed is a cheap alternative but I was lucky enough to get mine for nothing, I just put a ply top on, some tie down points and and alloy channel to locate the front wheel, rated for 200kg

I just got one from Predator Automotive. Call Ron on +6421942069.
Certainly not a cheap option, but asturdy unit with actual locks

Those ABBA Skylift thingys look good too. One thing to bear in mind, IMO, is that if you buy a good one, you will have no problem selling it on second hand. The cheap ones you see on TM look like they would stack well on or under that bunch of treadmills and gym equipment that people buy and never use...

They also like to tip forwards with a heavy bike on them

I will be working on a variety of bikes and they you have to have a kit for each one.

I will have bikes well over 200kg to work on.

Not a very good pic, can get more of needed. It's a real nice bit of kit. Would take a forklift to tip it over, but it is bloody heavy

If you have welding and other fabrication skills, a thread here by arronduke - RG extensive clean - from midway down page 3 to 5 are some pictures of a lift he has built. It looks solid enough to hold an ElectraGlde with rider AND pillion
Its also a very entertaining thread but subject matter does wander from time to time https://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/158121-RG-Extensive-clean?highlight=extensive+clean
