I have never been able to understand why it is offensive to simply drop a few letters off someone's nationality and use the shortened version, thinking Japanese and Pakistani here. A completely new word I can agree can be offensive and I can come up with many that I would not write on here. And that is where I am with the P word.

Being English I have never used the word Pom and really don't understand those who use it to describe themselves. You can tell by the tone and the way it is used whether it is meant as a lighthearted term or actually has a bit of spite behind it. In the end I think fuck you to whoever uses it whichever way it was intended.

I have no idea why I feel this way, I just do.
