i was just skirting through it, great friday, might be a bit damp on and off sat, great sunday so if there's wet that's when it's probably better,

I've been getting the Africa Twin ready for the trip. New Li-Ion battery to replace the lead acid that has been getting a bit weak, new front brake pads, new WoF, new Rego - she's all good to go!

another weekend of absolute magic, few showers sat arvo to maybe nine at night, but certainaly not rain as such, site and people took it well, and when the showers did come the wind settled down.
thanks for the hard work for all that staged it, bring on next year.
2 am bed for me both nights, a bit fly blown now but that's to be expected

I think the Burt Munro Rally is the best one, but I'm heading off to the Cold Kiwi again this year regardless.

When I went it was just a large campground with a bar bands and food, do they now have events etc?

they were pretty primitive back there, it was only in the last handful of years they had a band and small army tents to shelter, the biggest year there were 4500 people with beer large individual bonfires, no small drum fires and no band, and rows of long drop toilets. Imagine people thinking all that is cool now? Oh, no back up vehciles either, if you did they were parked half a mile away on sh1

More events than any other rally I've been to. Hill Climb in Bluff, beach racing, speedway, drags at Teretonga, racing at Teretonga and they were doing a street race in Invercargill, but I think this has now ended.

As said, it was just a campground with bar food and band, all of the entertainment was away in the distance. Still cool, as the speedway was over the back and Teretonga park within walking distance.
