£40,000 for an engine rebuild has to sting...

But my god the sound when it starts is worth every quid.

I remember something about how Honda got around the noise and emission's limits by just lowering the rev limiter to 9K in USA.
Even less in Japan.
In 94 a pair of YZR500 cranks were 6000 pounds Yamaha recommended 1800km (Much less on the big bangs too)a set of cylinders was 7500 pounds they were likely under 5000km. pistons every 1000km, rings every race.
that said for te Honda its 4000km in road trim? i think they used to do half of that under the old rules for mgp , not sure now though.

Yeah the US spec models were around 150hp, so that makes sense.

got a mate with an RC211 up north, and the race kit in a large box, the steel on the box is rusting, not good enough for a bike of that cost I reckon....

Thanks for posting the link. Amazing bike, only Honda would be crazy enough to do that!

Don't forgot Ducati did it too with the D16RR back in 2008.

The whole thing may have been meant to be kept in an air-conditioned room. The RC213V was.

Yes. I was taken there by a friend who asked that the location not be revealed.

Oh totally, that is not a location you don't want people knowing about at all. Thanks for sharing the pic!
