That's right, after 12 plus years of operation they are closing down, quite possibly today will be their last day of business. CMG are taking over the reins, so all your Suzuki and BMW needs will be now met by the team in town.

Haha same. I went in to see the guys yesterday just after I heard the news, I only went in to catch up. Ended up leaving with a new helmet, gloves, ear plugs and Oxford riding jeans. Almost felt like a vulture picking over the carcass but hey the stuff had to be sold and I needed new gear.

Yes, small businesses have always been a blight on society and
a nasty symbol of anti-corporatism. Hopefully throughout
the country all small business will be done and dusted by mid-2024
and we can usher-in a fantastic new regime of full big-corporate
control and big-corporate ownership which will improve the lives
of all New Zealanders. Thank you National party and thank you
Labour party for allowing us this wonderful opportunity. We know
this is the best thing for all of us now.
We can get rid of these stupid private-business agendas swiftly and permanently.
Please all embrace this long-overdue big-corporate/governmental control system
and then we can all be happy and prosperous.
Just remember, please ensure you wear your spitmasks at all times and
submit your social credit scores when entering any of our corporate-owned
premises from now on.
Thank you. Carry on. Next.

Or that another small business has taken over the brands business.

"small" business? Medium sized, surely?

Arguably yes, although it's all relative isn't it. CMG while having many pies is still a small business in the grand scheme of things. In my opinion much closer to that description than the one of 'big corporate'.

It'll be interesting to see if CMG set up a separate shop for Suzuki.
I've no idea what Suzuki's current policy is re multi-brand shops. It was once a no-no.

Triumph was the same. Single brand "lifestyle" shop. Presumably they dont see much overlap but its interesting the layout in the current joint being split. Indian and "other" to the left, Triumph to the right as you walk in the joint.
I wonder where they are going to put Suzuki and BMW - unless they have another building somewhere close. Maybe they arent even picking up BMW. Enquiring minds......

I worked at Casbolts just before Craig got Ducati onboard, that was a very big deal as Honda were adamant that no other brand could occupy one of their stores. As pointed out Avon had BMW and Moto Morini.

Avon City guys saved the BMW brand, after it was trashed by Jeff Gray, and bounced by Harmans on Carmen Road.
I wonder who is going to pick it up, or if CMG, who appear have a plan for world domination, are going to run with it.
