Well as some of you may or may not know I've sold my lovely, sweet, darling, little bike.
The 11 year old child was on sale for precisely 4.5 hours before another Kiwi Biker came and decided she was too good a ride to pass up.
When I first bought this bike I knew nothing about bikes, apart from the fact that they had two wheels.
Then I saw this bike for sale - it was in my budget so I went and had a look at it. Having discovered KB about a few months before I really wanted something to ride and seeing this black beauty (I love black bikes) parked in a warehouse in Manukau really set my blood racing.
So I bought it. :sunny:
Here are some pics from the day I bought it till date.

Since then she has taken me at least a hundred times over Cheenic Dwive  and at least twice or thrice a month on a KB ride.
She was my ticket to meeting all you great people and my passport to all the spectacular roads we have here. Especially Fire Fight's driveway and SH25. For a guy who doesn't smoke or drink she was my source of adrenalin and helped me release stress every time I felt weary. Not to mention one of by best and most reliable friends.
Till date I have spent a lot of time and effort keeping her in the best condition I could afford and sometimes skimping on personal items so I could make sure she was well maintained. Around $5000 was invested keeping her running well, all of which were spent on mechanical parts and servicing labour and I reckon that was the best $5000 I've spent in my entire life.
We shared lots of joy and lots of scares but never any sad memories. In the year she was with me only once she didn't start and that was due to a blown fuse. I was trying to start her after she'd been lying for a month - with a car battery; 12v vs 6v isn't a good combination.:nono:
I only crashed her once, slipped on a diesel spot down SH22 in the pouring rain. Luckily the damage was only cosmetic and I could for a hoon the next day :).
I hate the fact that I'm having to give her up:crybaby: .
However I hope she brings as much pleasure to her new owner as she did to me. RICHIE mate I hope you enjoy your new ride and I look forward to seeing you on some rides with us. :chase:
Here are some pics of the bike from this afternoon. :niceone: The other ZZR belongs to Ranzer.

For about a couple of months I had been toying with the idea of whether or not I should upgrade to a faster 250 or stick with the ZZR.
Well all the sensible people around me and the logical part of my brain strongly advised against buying a larger bike.
But it's hard to be sensible where bikes are concerned and I really wanted to see what life was like on the other side of 160 :eek5:.
Then on another crazy KB ride I met our favourite nudist:hbd: and he told me he had a ZXR 250......Hmmm... :sherlock: went and rode it the next day and it all seemed right.
But still I wasn't convinced ....... until a few days later when I had a serendipitous (big word Yoshi ) moment and realised I would be on a 250 for a while. That night after much restlessness I caved in and decided to go ahead and get that ZXR.
Haven't been on any rides on it except for a brief trip down Cheenic Dwive . But it handles quite differently compared to the old girl.
By the way the fairings are at a mates house - need to find a set of screws for them....... unless Juzzer can remember where he put the originals:whistle:
Thanks for the bike Juzzer:cool:
PS: Can't believe how

Does this mean you are going to get a V-Twin like a SV650 or something that doesn't sound like a sewing machine as all inlines do ???? :spudwave: ... :dodge:

Here's another pic.
There's your old 400 aff-man......Boy!!! I remember that 2 and a half feet tall wheelie you pulled the first time you and I went to see the ZZR in the warehouse -- The first time someone ever pulled a stunt on a bike in front of me - :not: :not: :not:
And there' a pic of MR on a bloody push bike - I'd laugh at him if it weren't for the fact that the fella could probably ride that faster than we can ride our motorbikes......
Here's my first KB ride pics ...... remember the one where the security guards came and told us to piss off...... cos they were sick of that old man who kept leaving showers of sparks and scratches on their driveway....
Seems like someone hates there back tyre SpeedMedic

...That night after much restlessness I caved in and decided to go ahead and get that ZXR.Looks like the ZXR needs a bit of work cosmetically, but other than that you look like you've got yourself a good bike, and you sound like a happy camper JSG - enjoy!
Good historical writeup & send off for the old ZZR...I can still remember that day you put it down on 22 in that *ahem*...diesel spill?

It must have been diesel. I do not remember losing control at any particular point - just suddenly the front washed out and I was rolling down the road.....
I was more scared of getting run over by those cages we passed than of any injuries from the crash - luckily I managed to walk away with just an aching jaw from me going face first into the road Hehehehehe:whistle:
I've got big plans for the ZXR - lets see how it goes.....
