So am idly thinking about a 1200gs or a 1250 gs. I am 6 3 so i like a big roomy bike. I also like backroads. Anyway main reason for posting is i also like a bike that can do at least 300km on a tank...picton to chchc is my theoretical yardstick (336km)
So what range do kiwibikers get?

520 - 540 on the GSA.

Get the new 1300GS Adventure, it’s all tank, baby!

You're going to need to narrow down what you're after...

R1200GS (all 20L fuel tanks)
2004-2009 - hex head
2010-2012 - cam head (double over head cam, more power at higher revs)
2013-2018 - wet head (water cooled)

R1250GS
2019-2023 - shift head (variable valves)

R1200GSA
2004-2009 - hex head (33L)
2010-2013 - cam head (33L)
2014-2018 - wet head (30L)

R1250GSA
2019-2024 - shift head (30L)

On the GSAs at least, when you've got 30L+ of fuel, your range can vary by more than 100km, depending on how you ride it.

My 2007 R1200GSA holds 38 litres and has a range of over 700km, if I ride at about the open road speed limit

although the GSA would surely meet my requiremnts for fuel range I am not interetsed in a GSA.
Lets limit in then to a 1250 gs or the latest generation of 1200 GS's.

Great thats the sort of number that i hoped. 330 340km to a tanks seems entirely doable then.
