Anyone been on this road lately, or know what condition it's in? It's over 10 years since I rode it, and it wasn't great then.

It is awesome IMO! But it is a rural rd, has lumps and bumps and so you cannot ride it like a racetrack. The fact that it can be part of a loop with maungamukas only adds to the flavour. Has been a year since I went up it last but my mates still rate it!
Am doing a four lighthouses trip up there on the 23rd

This is one of my regular rides, as in at least monthly. Sealed all of the way, full of humps, hollows and locals on the wrong side of the road. The safety people have made the maximum speed posted at 80kph but there are also extensive sections at 60kph, 40kph and even at 2am on a Sunday you must (apparently) only do 30kph through Herekino. Having said that I've never seen a Highway Patrol car anywhere near the place. There are the odd road works, some marked and some not. Gas at the Broadwood store if needed. Enjoy,

Nothing notable, just a few mates going to Reinga, East Cape, Palliser and whatever is the westernmost lighthouse. One of our Crusty Farmers has organised the route and we just follow him. It's not a trip until you get lost, is what we always end up saying! Haha! We may also go to the geographic centre if we have time…

We did the ride yesterday from Kohukohu after a side trip to Pungaru. Most of the road is good with the bumpy sections well signposted. One of Nortland's best kept secrets.

We came back over the Mangamuka's. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
