Anyone had a ride on one and able to give an opinion report review, I was thinking of stepping up from the MT-03

I've ridden a few of them over the years, predominantly as courtesy bikes, and one extended test ride on one before I opted for my Street Triple.

Are you looking for a LAMS or full power one? One thing I will say about the LAMS version is that it's the only large capacity LAMS bike I've ridden where the engine doesn't feel artificially watered down. The engine feels incredibly punchy in its LAMS form, much more so than I was expecting.

Have you ridden an MT-07 before? The engine characteristics feel totally different with the MT-03 being a revvier engine vs the MT-07 which has noticeably more torque earlier in the rev range, but tends to feel like it's running out of puff a bit at higher RPMs.

I was looking at the MTO7 HO , 789 cc , I see trademe is full of the 655 cc bikes and a lot are with low kilometres, I’ve been riding the MT03 for 2.5 years and I have a full license years ago I bought the mt03 as I thought I could manage it and now I have covered 23000 kilometres doing the Auckland to Kaitaia trips I was thinking more power

Plus, the much better brakes and suspension. (Although, that was in 2017. I'm not sure if the MT-07 components have been upgraded since then.) My Street Triple now has almost 90,000 kms on the clock and it's still going strong. One day I will probably replace it with another low kilometer Street Triple. If I bump it up to a 765, it might even feel like new bike instead of paying a lump of cash for more of the same.

My personal recommendation would be to test ride a bunch of bikes, as there's several good options in the middleweight naked segment these days. In addition to the MT-07, I'd at least recommend test riding a Tuono 660, Street Triple 675/765 and maybe even a Z650 or Versys 650 for additional data points.

You could also try the MT-09 and Hornet 750, which might surprise you. There are many good bikes in this category at the moment.

I had ridden my sons 675 and (coming from GS1100G & KLR experience) I thought it was amazing. The 765RS is orders of magnitude improved on what was already a pretty neat bike and probably not the wisest move, but it was there and will no doubt be the last hurrah for me so... I know I'll never come anywhere near tapping its full potential but the midrange torque is more than enough to keep me giggling if not laughing right out loud.
