Not expecting much sympathy here...

I couldn't watch Bathurst live, so set the Sky box to record it, arrived home 2 hours after it started, and watched the race with breaks for dinner, etc., fast forwarding when not much was happening.

It was a long race, heavy rain, crashes and safety cars. So about 20 laps to go and the recording stops. No problem I thought, it will be on Sky Go. Nope, the recording there finished at the same time.

Found extended highlights on YouTube. One of the great finishes.

Thanks for the hint that it's on YouTube. YT kept telling me to watch the start, it still hasn't told me about the finish.

I also started late and was skipping through the safety car bits and larko talking crap, it kept going to the end of the race but at some point before that it would no longer ffwd so I had to sit through lots of nothing happening to get there.

The new sky box really is a bit crap, remote is stupidly slow to respond, and as far as I've worked out you can't tell it to start 1 hour into a recording like the old one did to skip the pre-drivel and get straight to the start of the event you want to watch.

Made for a late night in the end.....

They updated the race on SkyGo on Monday, but left out the podium! The last laps were crazy, they probably should have read flagged the race after cloud descended on the mountain.

Conditions were shocking at one stage, so many drivers crashed.

Only one thing for it me ol mate, Camp on Top of the Hill like I did, this year, last year and for many years before that.
Nothing like being there.
Young Matt did the job beautifully, used his YOUNG 22 Yr.'s old , head) and didn't make any stupid mistakes, letting Golding go, knowing he also had to get 5 seconds ahead of him.
Had a wonderful time, the Ozzies as usual denied there had been a Rugby match of any significance and that their Great Race was going to be won by a K1W1, again! Till it was!@$#%%@.
Love camping with our feral Aussie mates, we've been there with them for over 25 years, they are Good buggers!
The televised end was pretty bloody good young John!:niceone:

Me and my brother did the race a few years ago. We decided we would go the whole hog and booked through williment, had a suite directly above the pits, accomodation at Orange, daily transfers. We wandered around the whole circuit on Race day.
After that we hired a Land Cruiser camper thing and went out to Camerons Cnr(very NW cnr of NSW) and camped a couple of nights in the outback.
