View Full Version : Boy racers are such tossers!

Riding home last night, just north of the Westgate roundabout on Highway 16,I caught up to a mitsi lancer. It looked like he'd backed over his mum's rubbish bin, with the stupid exhaust sticking out the back.
As I move on to the center line to pass him he dropped down a couple of gears and floored it.I opened the bandit up and shot forward, and just to increase his humiliation,as I passed his side window I changed up from 4th to top and proceeded to piss all over his poxy tin top.
I waited for him at some slower traffic and when he had caught up I turned around and laughed at him (I had my flip face open) and made a gesture indicating that I though he was a giant wanker.
He didn't look at all happy,But his girlfriend was pissing herself laughing.
I continued on my way up the painted median:
Yeah,stay stuck in traffic,dickhead

Typical of Kiwi society in recent years, especially in small towns...unsurprising that we follow the US trend in yet another area, only 10-15 years behind.

As Fred Gassit once said: "It ceases to be a challenge after a while" :devil2:Agree. It's such a pain waiting for an open space so that they can get annilhilated properly. After I'd had a few hours in the wairarapa yesterday I got into a wee play with a Subbie... took miles before he could get past the cars I'd split (without me doing more than 10k over the speed limit)... all to be beaten senseless when he did catch up.

But he was a good humoured one, he was expecting a pounding and played up to it.

why do they even try dicing with bikes? Pixies boi clearly was expecting to win, but some of them know they are gonna get dicked and just want to see what the bike can do. Like the time I was driving an old ute and the first WRX I had ever seen pulled up along side me- I egged him into a quick drag 'cause I wanted to see what the WRX could do.

had some tosser in a mitsi legnum vr4 pass me so I decided to sit in behind him at 1#0km/h. Followed for awile and then came to a few cars and trucks bunched up. Passed them all relatively easy, look back and here is this idiot passing trucks in the most dangerous of situations. I caught up to the next bunch of cars with 2 buses. Turned around, gave him/her the bird and then passed all the vehicles in frount of me. Never saw the tosser again... :bleh:

All GTR's are Godzilla's (nickname for em) if you are reffering to the GTR N1 or Nur spec, which i think you are yes they are only 2 in NZ that i know about and for some fucked up reason they wouldn't let em loose legally, but i dont think a HP car would have much to say to one as it wouldn't have a shit show in getting close enough.

The fact is, 99% of the people in these type of cars dont have a shit show in pushing them hard enough to give bikes a hard time, the people that can "drive" will surprise many a rider, a big bore sports bike is equal game to a capable driver behind a weapon like the GTR's and the likes, maybe one day you'll come up against someone who can "drive" and you'll change your opinoin, but if you wnat to break it down to bang for buck all the time, then yes, nothing comes close to a GSXR1000 ($13000 or there abouts) or even the ZXR750 which is more than capable of embarssing many things in the right hands ($5000 or less), i live in the money talks world, cars are cool, but bikes are cooler and cheaper.

The fabled fast prick in a fast car...I've searched many roads for one to battle with but haven't been lucky yet :( Fastest thing I've come across which was going in my direction or about to go in my direction was a hell souped WRX (saw it in a Fast Fours or such mag as having over 400hp, recognised it from the plate)...but that was on the motorway so it was gay and not much fun.

I saw a 996 GT2 on Old North, just before Kaukapkapa a little while back, but he was going the other way and I was only just getting in to the ride...regret not turning around and having him on now though...

Doesn't matter if I get the learn, just wanna see how I can measure up...

Unfortunately when we lump our 80kg (give or take 20) asses on to a bike, it affects the above calculated ratio a lot more than the same fat ass jumping in to a 1.5 tonne car.

The biggest thing is like i said is that because it's a hot car, doesn't mean the monkey behind the wheel can drive it so. It's like putting a first timer on a GSXR1000 and saying he's got one farkin fast bike he must be a good rider. Thats what we generalize most cage drivers like, hey a porshce, and when we dust the porshce we are like fuck i'm the man, smashed a porsche with a muppet driving it, would you be the same when you gave a newbie on a GSXR1000 the learn while you're riding a 250?

This argument never ends does it? It's a bit like people who think they're "fast". Everybody is "fast" until they come across someone who is "f***ing nuts". The basis for them being "f***ing nuts" is that they are faster than them. Either that or they "must have more horsepower". Oh, wank wank.

As LB will remember, even a healthy $10k car will give a few bikes a surprise... and I don't think he ever went in it when it was actually running properly!! And my old GSR wouldn't get near a 700hp GTR.

Horses for courses... I've done the fast car thing, and I'm doing the reasonably quick bike thing (yeah yeah, only a 636 I know), but I'm fully expecting to get my ass handed to me one day by a car through some twisty stuff. An 85% good driver in a "quick" car will give it to 99.8% of riders through the twisty bits.

Sorry, fable was an inaccurate term...I know they're out there for sure. At this Porsche driver training day I went to with my Dad once, amongst other things I saw a GT3 braking for the hairpin at Puke with a Careera Cup driver behind the wheel and was blown away by the stopping power of that thing.

Same applies for a bike rider too, and i think you'll find madboy busts about anything in his car even without a new bit to put into it and still haves fun. He's one of the better cage pilots that i know and that poxy GSR of his would scare many, if he still had it, mind you if he still had it, it would prolly be in peices waiting in the garage.

Just to add a little more to this debate - what would happen if you turbo'd your favourite k5/busa/12r/10r etc etc
Don't just say "boom" you smartarses.

Stock bike vs reasonably modded car.... okay fair depending on how modded that car is.

Modded (turbo) bike vs heavily modded car... bit more like it. In the straights at least.

After watching ghost rider go past another bike on a busa at 340-360+ on one wheel makes me wonder if those fast 'zillas could really do much at all when compared to it.

And yes don't get me wrong, I realise that when the fastest bikes vs the fastest cars, cars will always win. And the usual rider/driver skill thing comes in to play as well.

Damnit.

you want to chase some real cars and drivers?

Option
1.) Follow the WRC rally cars from one stage to the other.
2.) Hide in one of the Targa stages after the start line, pick a car from the list (over 100 fast cars to choose from) and try to follow / pass it.

Man it's a relief to see that others here that own performance cars as well (Yoshi & LB). After reading so many posts anti anything with 4 wheels I was starting to think I was the only one here who enjoys the pleasures of both.

BTW, I think I've seen your car Yoshi, are you a member of SDU? and LB, I've driven one of those 6spd turbo Supras, wicked car straight out of the box.

Howdy all, this is an age old argument and one not worth getting into.

What I did want to ask was where you're getting you're information from TWR?! I helped start the Skylines down under club and pretty much know most things about GTRs and skylines in general.

Let me start by stating that there has never been a godzilla model, it's a nickname that the australians gave the R32 GTR race cars back in 89/90/91. Nissan have never put that name to it. If you've seen one then it's a custom badge.

There have been a crap load of R34s sold in this country and that's not counting the imported GTRs. As stated earlier you may have been referring to the NUR or N1 model although I would have thought there would be more than 2 of those in the country also.

I don't want to put you down but you're argueing with people like you know what you're talking about and i'm just clearing things up. :done:

I raced a 355 spider onto the motorway on my NSR 250 a few years ago and stayed with him till about 120kms at which point he left me...We both slowed down and had a laugh about it.

I tend to ingore the poor wee bastards. Maybe they could give WINJA a hand to paint his roof. :apint:
I tend to ignore them too, they're just mobile chicanes, after all.
What induced me to rub his nose in it was that, his accelerating as I was passing, was compromising my safety.

admittedly though its good to hook in behind one when your out on the open road ( mainly because you can use them as cop hunters ) in fast cruise mode, just melt them in the twistys then wait for them again in the open. :niceone:
In the twisties they upset your rhythym, generally slowing too much for corners.
(I find this in my MX5 too,I even had a Lambo Murcielago blast past me,then hold me up at the next corner in the MX)
And the boi's with no suspension even slow you on the straights,if the road gets bumpy.

Ok so the old chestnut of how some of these cars will piss all over bikes has resurfaced.
The point is:the drivers of these cars are useless.I'm not saying there aren't some skilled drivers around, just that they are few and far between.I have encountered one driver in a legacy that kept up with me on SH16 after I passed him.I was riding at 70% of my comfort limit and after 10 km I think he scared himself and gave it a rest.
I have had several drivers follow me into corners too fast and lose it over the years. And it wasn't always when I was on a bike either;once I was in a mitsubishi magna and the pillock trying to race me ended up sliding sideways through Long Swamp near Mere Mere, after failing to take the corner at the end of the long straight in the wet.Another arse who took exception to being passed.
As for the Boi's,you don't develop many driving skills cruising up and down Queen Street.

Yeah but you get to learn what it feels like to drive with a tiny visor or something - most of them I can just see the eyes between the steering wheel and the dash :whocares:
Glad I got out of that phase real quick!

OF THE REAL CAR`S OUT THERE THAT WILL KICK MOST BIG BIKES ARSES AROUND CORNERS AND UP THE MOTORWAY:crybaby:

Name some, just for the M/way bit.
As for the fabled 'street' cars that do sub 11 quarters. I guess you can count them on the fingers of one foot.
Anyway, after 160 k's it's pretty academic, and all cars are toast till then.

R1madness - 10.9.
Litre plus bikes will do sub 12's all day unless the rider has reflexes measured in minutes
And you should know as well as me that sub 12's on a sticky strip with warm tyres is not the same as at a set of traffic lights.

Lou, there ARE a few cars that do sub 11s. Im often blown away by the number of them. Technology seems to advance pretty quickly. And with most being awd's they are pretty consistent.

Speed/Acceleration wise, I dont care if it's a horse on steroids - if its fast, gimme a ride!
