Franz Josef to Wanaka.
Very little to report on this one .Dreary overcast very windy day. As we approachd Haast the wind was really strong. Crossing the bridge over the Haast River the wind was brutal side on. A huge ammount of dust was being stirred up on the river bed. Highlight of the day was riding down the shores of the lakes,but quite an unpleasant day.
Stayed at a motor camp .What a Disaster.The room was alright but facilities block very old. No spare cooking,crokery or cutlery.No one was at the office when we arrived ,and the power was out. Me mates trip ended here. We had planned to stay here two nights,and go for an ride around the area. But Darryl had to go home as his wife needed surgery. We knew this could happen .We got the news on the morning of the second day which was a bit of a downer for both of us.
