View Full Version : Why is it so hard to find wallpaper images of the Britten bikes?

I just tried posting this and it didn't seem to work...

I'd heard that the Britten trust had come down hard on people hosting images of these bikes without their permission... is this true?

I've spent half an hour struggling to find something better than a single 800x600 image of a Britten bike. Even the Britten website has a "photos" section, but every one of those images is small, most are post-JB (RIP), and none suit a wallpaper application. I'd have thought the trust would make this sort of thing freely accessible so as to encourage the fan base and increase sales of other merchandise...

Maybe someone has some images that could please point me in the direction of? I'm off to Canada tomorrow and some smarmy bastard (last trip there) didn't believe a word I told him about the Britten bike legacy... so I'm now armed with my big Britten book... and I'd like a few nice big photos :p There are some awesome photos out there but they're all too small!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

That would be excellent! Thanks

I saw a very small image of Stroud(?) with the bike in an almost vertical wheelie (not quite vertical of course)... but it looked bloody brilliant. I'd love to have that as a wallpaper :p

Do they want to make more money on posters or something?

I would love a poster of the Britten but they only have A2 sized ones (far too small).

Mmmmm I got a nice laminated poster of the Beast AND signed by the man himself and Andrew Stroud....any reasonable offers over $1,000,000.00 and I might be persuaded to part with it :D

Long story behind that pic.. theres more but need to be scanned... was the days of real cameras. Cousin of mine was shipping it to Aus for a meeting there.. Had it in his workshop for a day or so... hope the owner doesnt ever read this.. that was an experience I'll never forget.

...then what happened :psst:

Found a few more floating around.. may have to fire up the old pentium 2 and do a recovery..(all got deleted).

the one with the yellow guards is my favourite colour scheme and is way big enough for wallpaper. The others are also big enough.. just set the backround to black or dark blue for best results with those. (or stretch to fit) The other thing is to clone the Britten colour off the tank and use that colour as backround.. kewl.
Thanks! There are a couple of goodies there! :)
