How much would it cost to get the engine put in?

well, if you took the old one out you would see where everything is supposed to go, so when you get the new one you can put it in yourself - that way it is free.

I will do it for $100 if the buyer is a lazy prick.

Ooooo boy, sounds good! Did it have roughly the same power as your old ZXR?

its about as quick to 100kmh but its redline is down at 13-15,000rpm it so it runs out of steam faster and doesnt have the same top end.

It does have better torque tho, it is basically a detuned GSXR engine, but more reliable.

Don't suppose you could 're-tune' it up? It would make a good streetstock bike

not sure aye. Tops out at about 170 so probably wouldnt be so great unless you were out there just for fun. Got similar torque to a 250 twin tho, just not the top end of the inline fours.

however i think you can fit a GSXR engine in it if you really wanted too...

I was talking to the guys at TSS motorcycles (the guys who sponser the Manfeild Streetstock Class) and they had a 250 Katana there. They said they tested it out at manfeild and said it was probebly faster than the other 250s around the track. It sounds like it would be like the GF as it had a redline of 15,000 too. Guess it might make a good race bike

Not much I can do untill the CBR is sold. Only just got the tank fixed and the bloody panelbeater painted it black with sparkles :pinch:

yeh the engine is similar to the katana, but the katana one revs out a bit more (like the GSF250 bandit).

I wouldnt mind taking a GF around a track, would be good on a short twisty track... not so good somewhere like pukekohe tho.

Off topic: Just searched up 'project' under the motorcycle category on Trademe. This is rather interesting

Hey! I took the mighty FXR to Puke and it was good fun.

Though I bet the ZXR will be even better

Think first, do you really want to wreck a perfectly good bike? Don't want anyone making the same mistake I did

"pirelli sport daemon tyres"

Not a Unix geek by any chance? Are you? :)

It's blimming tempting, but I'd be living outside if I bought a project bike.

Would rather crash on a track than on the road to be honest. But seriously, why would I wreck my bike at Puke? One can race and not crash you know
