In the market for new boots. Any one got Alpinestars roam boots? How do you like them? Who stocks them in Auckland?

Thanks in advance - Andy.

Yup, I got them after an accident where the brake pedal (I think) did a can opener on my boot and put me in hospital for a month with skin grafts etc. The main reason I wanted to try them was the toughened nylon inserts over the toes. I like them. I wear them to, and during work every day, they seem to be waterproof and they're nice and warm on cold rides without getting all sweaty during the day.

I got a good deal from Mount Eden Motorcycles. Ask for Wiggles and tell him Andrew with the ZX-12 is really happy with his.

Stockists: Mt Eden m/c and Haldanes.

I've found them more comforable than the Sidi touring boots I've owned, and the ankle support is better in my opinion.

They waterproof liner isn't breathable, compared to the more expensive A* boot, or most/all Sidi's, so I need to stuff them with newspapers occationally to draw the moisture out of them.

Any other questions?

Ok bought some boots.... Got Forma GT's instead! Very comfy and seem to be well made. Grippy soles for the mud too.
