What pisses me off is when a seller states 'no reserve auction' where it clearly is not the case. That guy is pretty clueless though.

ha, ha,ha... the funny this is that was ME on my dads account :sweatdrop (so dont dis him he knows a shit loads about bikes)
i wrote that a bit wrong, its just that my 2 stroke mx bike dosnt have a battery, at least like a 4 stroke so i judged it off that. its not like it has a big battery though right?
i asked that because i want a 2 stroke 250 but i dont like how you dont get electric starts and stuff, these things run off a battery dont thay?, so why dont two strokes have them if they have a battery?

also im only human (and 16), i dont take auto shop and i ride bikes.... but my dad fixes them

case closed :whocares: , unless your answering a question

My two stroke (well, one of them) has a honking big battery and a (rather feeble) electric start. Tis a bit bigger than 250cc though.

spark plugs need a battery to create the spark...

No they don't . Lots of bikes have a magneto. No battery. Used to be ALL bikes had magnetos. Very good it was too. Now only some, cos of silly regulations in the USA and such like. But you don't need a battery for sparks. Even without a magneto you can often ditch the battery if you fit a big capacitor (still need the alternator, but)

really?, i thought it would be like a lighter?. so on my mx bike, is there a little battey in the black box (forgot the name for it).

so could you wire up a push start and alam system on these batteries? (small, light two strokes)

oh yeah but that thar be which craft hoodoo and is nar to be mentioned again :calm:
but seriously what is a magneto, i can understand how a capacitor could be used quite effectively, but yeah how is a magneto different to a capacitor?

Electric start 2 strokes are for pussies.
They should fire first kick (or second if you forget to turn on the fuel).
If you spend anymore that 3 kicks on it something is out of wack

Here ya go. The Lucas K2F mag, most reliable bit of electramcal gubbins I've ever encountered. And a flywheel magneto as fitted to the BSA Bantam . Invention of the devil (Ever wonder incidentally how motor mowers and chainsawa manage to spark their plugs without a battery)

The mighty XR doesn't have a battery and runs a 6V AC system.
