As the title says, Wolf and I would like to meet other KB'ers around the area, so we have thought of having a BBQ lunch at our place on the 19th november 2005 at around noon. We would like to meet riders from Auckland and other areas as well. So those of you out there who would like to come please do - as it is a lunch time BBQ, you should have time to get here and home again afterwards. You can pm myself or Wolf for more details. Bring the family and make a day of it! kids also welcome (we have a big fully fenced yard for the kiddies so they will be safe.)
Usual deal: BYO drinks and something to throw on the BBQ, maybe even a salad for those who are not pure carnivores...
Please note: If bringing alcoholic drinks, please bring your own designated driver/rider.

Dunno but combine "middle earth" with the orgy idea and it kinda suggests somewhere about the groin...
Failing that - yeah - if I'm in town - I'm always up for a BBQ

If you bring a sleeping bag we could peg you up on the line...
OK, maybe only if you're lighter than one of our kids - it's a stretch picking them up for a hug when you get to my age.
Not really much in the way of tent space unless you have a small tent. There's more room now we've taken down the swing-and-slide set.

More of a BBQ metaphor - I'm sure if Wolf is behind the BBQ it will be meats cooked to perfection sans charring and foodbourne illness - I'll be checking your foodsafety plan! *PT*
I'll be tucking in to the plant matter personally, but I agree, it would be a worry if LiasTZ was doing the cooking ;)

Which, by my definition is: reheated to body temperature and still bleeding. "Of course it's ready to eat, it's stopped moving, hasn't it?" My taste for "blue" steak is legendary in some quarters: "A good vet could get it up and running again in five minutes", "he doesn't cook it, he brings it back up to body temperature", ""He doesn't actually cook his food, just shows it a photo of a candle", "he could set his plate in the corner and whistle his steak over to him" - all that and tortured squeals or plaintive "moos" when sticking the fork in...

I've never seen it and don't have a copy, heard about it tho'. Apparently it was aimed at the Future-Fantasy Role-Playing crowd and was not so much about cooking 'em as catching 'em - it then goes on to suggest the weapons that you could use to "catch your vegetarian" and included a variety of futuristic weapons such as "Fusion Gun, Man-Portable" that would probably either cook the vegetarian for you or ensure that all that was left would make roast quail look like a large portion...

If as a group and entering via SH1 into Hams then I can meet y'all at the same place as where folks met up here for the Waikato rally earlier this year or if you head straight through those two roundabouts you'll be on Te Rapa. a bit farther down and you will pass three bike shops. Ah, 'twas great. Our pleasure.
Phurrball and his lady arrived after everyone but thee had buggered off to ride to Raglan and you'd headed off. We'd even tidied up and "done the dishes" (involving a plastic rubbish sack and 3 minutes' work, gotta love plastic plates (oops, losing my Eco-friendly-Hippy cred, does it help that the rubbish bag is recycled plastic and biodegradeable?))
So we had "BBQ MkII" with Phurrball and his lady and discovered that an FXR150 is too tall for Stray but the Bandit 250 is an ideal size for me. (Tho' the FXR's economy is a major selling point - they both started at full and the Bandit used 3/4 tank while the FXR used only a quarter.)
Was saying to Stray that perhaps it was just as well that we don't have a bike at the moment or we'd've probably phoned Stray's parents and got them to baby-sit the cubs while we joined the others on the Raglan ride - and we'd've missed meeting Phurrball and Mrs P.

Plus this time StrayJuliet got to sit on my bike as well.. and had no trouble reaching the ground.
Im interested in knowing how she gets on when she sits on Waylander's Honda Rebel 250 as well. Height and seat width wise.
For me its the air boxes on the side that make the seat to wide for me and then I cant get my feet to touch the ground.. Bad designing there Honda.
Isn't it amazing which bikes people think you can sit comfortably on and yet the bike is so deceptive in height and seat width.
I sat on the GN250 and it was miles to high and that seat was so uncomfortable and hard.

A big thanks are due to Stray & Wolf for putting up with us late-comers! Cheers folks - it was well worth the trip to meet you at last...shame we were so late!
We took fashionable lateness to a new level - none of it helped by Mrs P thinking it was an evening BBQ, and my 'overly-complicated' oil change...Never mind. (Think rounded sump plugs and wrong oil filters )
