View Full Version : Best Motorcycle in a Supporting Role

I was watching Matrix Reloaded last night for the first time since I have had a MB. I can honestly say that I couldnt remember a MB being in this movie, let alone a Ducati...it was a nice peice of spirited riding by Miss Anne-Moss (apparently did some of her own riding for the movie).

So...I am asking for nominations in the category of Best Supporting Motorcycle in a non Motorcycle Movie. This conveniently (sp) discounts 'Biker Boyz' and 'Torque'. :niceone:

Hehehehe! Yes very convenient :niceone: Yep awesome scenes on the Duc for sure. I still think her leathers should get an award :sweatdrop Dang

She should get an award for 'taking a helmet off whilst still wearing sunglasses'. Id be interested in finding out how as I wear glasses.

but not all of it. I recall an article online somewhere about the female stunt rider that did that movie. girl power! woohoo!

also, close examination of the start sequence reveals that the bike that she jumps off the carpark roof and crashes into the building lobby was an MVA F4. I guess general audience recognition is pretty low for MV Agusta, so they didn't bother with the closeup on the fairing logo like they did with the duc later on.

*also* also, she only rode one bike in the original Matrix; you see her taking off on it just after Neo gets captured by the agents. you don't see much of it, but the headlights give it away as a Speed Triple.

what, Torque?

no, really, it was bad. lame, pathetic, unfunny, not exciting, just *crap*. why lose two hours out of your life?

watch Easy Rider again, instead.

Torque, or Easy Rider? ER was a good movie.

but Torque isn't even eye-catchingly bad enough for a top-10-bad list. It's just mediocre in every respect. I'd rather watch Children Of The Corn II.

All good bike movies Dave.. but its best supporting motorcycle in a NON motorcycling based movie.

if the Charger 440 in Bullitt was somehow a bike, it would have been the bestest bike ever, but its a cage so I'm going to get lynched for mentioning it now, arent I.

but perhaps we can allow it honourable mention as a motor vehicle from a movie that rocked.

which reminds me; what bike did McQueen ride in The Great Escape? [edit: I'm guessing a BMW, presumabyl, but which model?]

Ah - so it is - I responded to the headline - (read all questions before starting).

Great Escape still stands
Triumph Bonneville - Clint Eastwood - Magnum Force.
Arnie on the Fat Boy in Terminator. 'Gif me yor cloze and yor modorcycle'.
His Bonneville gave Gere's charachter credence in 'Officer & Gentleman'

Legend has it that the stunts were performed - controversially at the time, by mcqueen - on a Triumph Speed twin dressed up as a BMW.

What about I Robot, didnt Big Willy Stylez have an MV or summit? Thought that was a nice twist on the standard futuristic movie where the hero still has an "old school" vehicle. Was nice to see them put a bike in there instead of a big old american muscle car.
