View Full Version : Nice if it was tomorrow.

My new XB12X arrived in the country on the 25th and amps will give me a call when it's ready to collect - be nice if it's tomorrow.
I set foot in Unzud for the first time - 5 years ago - on melbourne cup day 1/11. Would be outstanding if new bike was ready to celebrate it.
I guess the fact that I'm coincidentally taking delivery of a new american motorcycle would indicate that it's been a pretty good 5 years.
It has been. I found a country full of people I get on with remarkably well (except for white trash) and have continually fallen on my feet professionally to the extent I have a 'Media profile'. Well Fark Me! Never in the script - we immigrated for HER job.
Meantime - back to knocking out Dririder ads and tinkering with web sites.
Of course it would be even better if it was this afternoon.

not that you're dropping hints, or anything, oh no...
can I come see it when it arrives at AMPS?
I like your new bike. like, like, like it. lighter and shorter than I was led to believe, really. also it has the Right and Proper Number of Cylinders, and you have ordered it in the One True Colour.
hmmmm.

We need more bums on seats and people like you are totally what NZ needs!

Nah - not really dropping hints. I brought my t'bird through customs - it's like a portal to a place where time has no meaning. the amps guys are cool - they covet the 20k cheque in my pocket.
You can be sure i'll let you know when it's ready.
Overall I still think 3 is the best number of cyclinders for a motorcycle.
And I have a 2 a 3 and a 4......bbboogie!

I guess it's just the vast-expanse-of-orange-plastic showroom look that makes me barf and cringe.
flattrackers have the authority and precedence of tradition backing up their orangeness. its not so bad, somehow.

Shh - I don't read it either (find it too hard when writing for it too - independent thought and all that) - i do look at it very, very, very intently however.
Yeah - i reckon I'll make the cover (again...nyk nyk nyk).
Bugjuices bike is nice for orange - shame he's such a dag.

Anyone know where I can get a solid-orange lid from?

I had occasion to have a look (no touching please) at that model in at Wellington Motorcycles. The salesman kept pushing me away from it??? Something about "We don't allow drool on the bikes, Sir."
BD - "I need money for bike, I work good, hard, give money."
Ok, maybe that won't work how about "PLEEEEEEEEEEEAAZZZZE!!!! Can I have one??????"
Damn, I guess that means I just have get back to work and earn my own money for all the bikes I want....

I submitted my 'Best of 05' to Kiwi Rider yesterday.
In the boquets and brickbats section:
Boquets:
To the Co-pilot for keeping me in the motorcycles to which I have become accustomed.

I thaught white was all colours - when you spin a rainbow wheel it turns white due to all the colours mixing up too fast for your brain. Black absorbs light/other radiation generally and is an absence of colou.

Dunno - but try mixing it in oils on a palette - or dithering a rgb phosphor screen - or mixing process inks on paper.

Black (n): All the colours go in, but none come out!

Depends on whether you're talking about additive colour mixing (RGB - data projectors etc) or subtractive colour mixing (CYM - printing, paint etc). :hitcher:

I think you might be right. Or a big single enduro type for the hard out adventure rides.
Or what about an old BSA or Norton 500 for fun at the classic days with Brian and chris.....what am I SAYING.......nooooooooooooo
How's Nelson?

Plenty of options there, just not too many come black as standard.

Excellent! but not enough riding going on, despite the great weather.
Moved into the house over the weekend. You should see the size of me shed - 6x6m! :niceone: In fact I'm a bit bewildered as to where to start putting stuff. Figured ride the bikes first, organise shed afterwards.
