Bike of the Year Awards of course.
Submitted my end of year awards to KR yesterday.
Don't think it will effect sales if i reveal what I gave 'Schwingies' for.
Easy you say - the bike you bought, you big lugnut.
No, whilst the XB12X gets me where I want to live - it's not the 'best' bike i've been on.
For it's all round on road versatility - Triumph Sprint ST. (4.75 Schwings)
Full test is in Dec KR.
Good lookin, beautiful 3cyl engine, tourable and 'fuck off' quick.
Buell a very close second.(4.5 Schwings) 15 more ponies, another 1000prm available and fix the rough spot at 2000rpm and I'd call it a tie.
What are your KB BOTY 'Schwingies'? (0 = softon - 5 = Elle Mcpherson* naked on your bed)
2005 or 2006 models and why.
If someone wants to set up a poll?
* Insert suitable imagery and gender here.

Superduke - real peoples riding position, superb V2, brakes to die for (or not), even clods like me can wheelie them and more fun per buck than just about anything.

Gotta be the ST. And that's not because Big D is hairier than me, just coz it looks so kewl, goes so well, and will apparently be gentle on the Biffbutt. And the journo type reports have been astounding in their collective marvel at the machine. And then Triumph being out the new Daytona 675. Bstards. And, and, and...
Not that I've ridden them mind. So despite what the world press says I may decide they're both wank. But I doubt it. And I'm hardly ever wrong, but rarely right.

Bah, these BOTY competitions are rigged. If they weren't, the Suzuki GSX-R would have won it every year since 1985... :P

Put some thought into this, then decided I, and most here, can't really answer that question. Unfortunately, unlike yourself BD most of us here haven't ridden a decent selection of '05 bikes to be qualified enough to give an honest, unbiased opinion.
So I say GSXR1000K5.

I'm struggling. There's way too much choice, but if I have to narrow it down, I reckon the BMW HP2 takes the cake - 5 schwings. Closely followed by the 2006 R6 on 4.75 schwings, Daytona 675 on 4.70, and the XB12X on 4.65.
There. I've made a mockery of my own post. Happy BD??

Yuh - and I haven't ridden all of everything that would be worthy either.
The BM's etc have not graced my behind.
Speculate and discuss, 'snot a research paper.

One can't help but notice, old bean, that you are currently riding bike number _3_ on that list.
One also finds oneself reluctantly acknowledging the relentless advancement of your... shall we say, 'well-practised youth'.
Being, of course, in the general case, entirely unfamiliar with your psyche, one can't possibly comment on whether your deathbed reflections will be influenced in any way by the currently-ongoing gargreal absence of bikes number 1 and 2.
But if I were you, I know what *I'd* be doing right now.

I know its bad form to vote for something you haven't ridden but -
2006 Yamaha SP (4.99 - loses points 'cause I can't afford it)
