As much as I love my new aprilia felco it has factory pipes and sounds like a sowing machine!!! dose anyone know of a good set of second hand slip-on pipes I could get my hands on? when you have a twin, noise is everything :headbang:
What?

If it sounds like a sowing machine, you'll need more than loud pipes...
Not so bad if it sounds like a sewing machine, though!
Welcome aboard (just watch out for the picky buggers here, OK)

Its the "Falco", and it's a FRICKEN NICE 1000cc beast. Would have bought one had i been able to justify the xtra $. Always the way.
And the Yoshi's are a real good call... i've got cyclones (not as deep as RS-3 hence suzuki gave them away, but far better than stock pipes)
Never heard a stock Falco, but if it's anything like stock SV pipes i'd replace them as fast as poss... something about a real sound - even dangerous threw his stock guzzi pipes b4 he'd done 500km (and sold the VTR...)
Go the Yoshi's...

When I purchased my Falco new in 2000 (first one registered in NZ) i Had the Factory Carbon Fibre and chip fitted before I rode it, it sounded f'n awesome and went even better, apparently Staintunes in Oz make them in Stainless which would be a better option. Go to Apriliaforum.com and ask there, awesome deals available. Happy hunting :niceone:

Personally, I've never liked the Aprilias sound. I've heard a few of them with different exhaust arrangements and they always end up with an unnatural sound, not pure rumbling like the TL's, SV's or Storms.

Thank goodness where all different, but to me you cannot beat the 60 degree growl, especially up in the rev range, my old Mille with a Arrow can and stuff all packing sounded horn, but each to their own. :2thumbsup

It's the 60-degree V-twin thing; anything that's not a 90 sounds weird if you ask me.

I've done the 90,60 degree thing, but 75 degree does it for me thanks, especially through twin Akrapovic's :stoogie:

The Aprilia's i've heard at track days all sound pretty good from the pit wall. Not so good going past me down the main straight. Any twin sound is a good twin sound.
